the 3rd gen is the only Maxima worthy of those stickers. Leave them be.

I know Erty made some org stickers. He might be able to make some 4DSC stickers too. A+++ quility, but i agree the 3rd gen was the one and only 4DSC.

i don't tell you how to mod your car.
i like the sticker.
i'm selling my 4DSC and would like to remember her by putting the stickers on my 03.
if it belongs on it or not it's not like a GTR badge.
there will never be a 4DSC again(if you ask me) and i want people to ask why i have the badge they have never seen before and i get to explain the max was the original 4DSC.
i could come up with other reasons but i really don't care if you don't like what i put on my car. i do it for me. not for other people. it's a way of self expression.

You're still adding a badge of something your car is not... so it might as well be a GT-R badge, IMO.

just because they didnt put a 4DSC sticker on his car doesnt mean it isnt just as much a 4DSC as a 3rd gen. it a much faster car, maybe handles a little worse, comes with a 6speed, better interior. IMO, 4th gen in the most 4DSC of all of them, but i guess since it didnt get a sticker its not a 4DSC...yeah right

The A32, 33, 34 chassis all handle like pigs compared to a 3rd gen's IRS.
the A33 and A34 are only faster because its got 10 years of technology behind it providing more power. the VE-5 was still faster in a straight line than a 4gen 5spd (stock for stock).

the interior quality on the 4,5,and 6 gens was vastly inferior to the build quality of the 3 gen as well. the styling of the 3 gen may be dated now, but the quality is there.

there's not a single painted plastic part on the inside of a 3 gen, unlike the 5 and 6 gens, which all start to scratch, peel, and flake after just a few months. the 4 gen was a tin-can rattletrap. My 3 gen still has no squeaks and rattles to this day (that weren't caused solely by me), at 14 years old and 235,000 miles. And I've had a big system in the car trying to rattle things loose for many years.

The 3 gen is also much more 'fun' to drive. It's simply a better driving experience. Which is what a sports car is about.

And don't bother arguing those points. It's all been done until everyone is blue in the face. the 3 gen still stands as the one TRUE 4DSC Maxima. all the rest are watered-down versions in some form or another.

its only true for those who are sure the 3rd gen is better. im gonna agree to disagree, cause i know im right and you know youre right so... either way, im just saying its fine for him to get a sticker that says 4dsc, and you shouldnt complain

i dont see why not because its the last best maxima ever made anyway...i think a maxima that comes with a 6 should wear one hands down...these guys talking like you're putting it on a 1.8L sentra or somethin lol

also its not like other car enthusiasts will understand us maxima guys anyway...the z guys are stuck up and hang to themselves like their **** is too good and other auto enthusiasts will take pride in it i think because it was the 1st car to even have ***** to wear the badge on a stock car...so if he wants to put it on his 5.5 damit do it

holy crap this is retarded.

Dude, dog on the 6th gens all you want, because they're different and we can enjoy segregating them. But don't start calling all the Maximas but the turd gen crap.

And for those saying there will never be another 4DSC, what about an M5? CTS-V? You know, the cars that are RWD and actually fast?

just have to throw this out there...with the amount faster a 5.5spd is, it would beat a 3rd gen through a road course/auto-x anyway, even if handling is worse it would catch and pass the 3rd between every turn

im now done with this thread

My old 1992 "econocar" Nissan (Sentra SE-R) spanks your "4DSC" stock-for-stock in any driving competion, except if it involves carrying groceries or passengers or getting laid in the backseat. Maybe you should give ME your precious sticker.

Your B13 SE-R never came in 4 door trim. only 2 door.
And if you've never seen my car on track, don't talk smack.

You come in, throw a poorly executed jab, and leave?
Many average drivers in Vipers can't even catch my car between the corners. Granted, my 3rd gen is modded to the hilt with bolt-ons, but I run the same lap times as a stock C5 Vette driven by above-average drivers.
It would take a pretty impressive driver in a 5.5 gen to keep up.

Your 3rd is manual. Your 4ths were GLEs.

I know you were just trying to cater to third gen guys, but still, stupid statement.

No shat, Sherlock. I am just commenting on your holier-than-thou approach, when the car you're so hyped-up about gets smacked around in any driving contest by its cheaper cousin.

If you want to comment on my holier-than-thou approach, then don't bring apples to an orange throwing contest.

The 4th and 5th gens had a ****ing minivan suspension on them. no sports car there! the 6th gen is too damn big, heavy, and overloaded with sunroofs and gizmos, and the build quality is crap. the only thing sporty about that car is the VQ35 and a 6 speed tranny. At least it had IRS, but with the addition of that, they added so much more crap to it, it's no longer even in the same class of car as the original Maxima. Too many electronic nannies and gadgets.

So you mean to tell me,
From a standing start you can beat Vipers and C5 Vettes through a road course?

Any you just have bolt-ons??!!

I'll give you the wheels off my ride if you can smoke me.

Just wondering, how is that relevant? You're comparing a fully modded VE5 to a 4th gen GLE (presumably stock)?

This is completely retarded. Yeah, 3rd gens have IRS. Yeah, I'm sure they handle better, there's no doubt in my mind. But all of a sudden third gens are feeling threatened and talking eight shades of **** about every other Maxima. Why? Why do you care? For some reason everyone feels that they have to prove at all costs that their gens are better than any other gen.

Yeah, I have a rear beam.
Yeah, my car wheelhops like no other.
Yeah, I have a gross excess of chassis flex, and my car has a few rattles.
Yeah, even with an RSB I have an upsetting amount of understeer.
Yeah, I have a ski-pole shifter and no synchros.
Yeah, my VQ has no top-end.

I love my car anyway, it's good at a lot of things. I don't doubt you feel the same about your car. The third gen is closest to a sports car, but no Maxima is really a sports car.

Whatever. Carry on.

What nannies are you talking about???

Now grant it, YES, a stock 5.5 and 6th Gen handled like crap. Truth spoken there. With a few bolt-ons my car handles lovlee now. And I still have more power, now what?

Everyone starts in the same grid at the same time, and I run several down at the track every time I go out.
Proof in the pudding: http://blehmco.com/movies/me_at_tws_1.wmv
watch about 4:30 to 4:55 as I run down a C5 and several Spec Miatas. light traffic out on the track, otherwise there would be more cars passed.

All arguments aside,

I would love a "friendly" race against previous Gens. Let's not get rediculous though, I ain't challengin' FI or cars on the bottle, I know I would lose.

But there's been alot of talk about "how my gen is better than yours" but no action. I wish we could do a track day and just settle it. LOL!

Dude,

That Vette clearly slowed down when you passed him.

*edit* all the cars you passed in that video gave you a courtesy pass. You didn't exactly blow by them.
