Do you let anyone else drive your Maxima???
Just curious to know how many fellow orgers allow other people to man the helm of their precious Max. Family, Friends, Valet, etc.. Personally, I will only let a select few of my friends drive my Max just so I can here them say "Wow this is soo smooth" and "This is a lot faster then my Honda". But for the most part I am very protective of her and no one usually drives it besides ME. I wonder how many orgers are more protective then I am? Especially with the large amount of beautiful Maximas on the site.

only my dad...other than him the person needs to know how to drive stick very well. But honestly the only other person I trust is my dad b/c he's been driving stick for 40+ years and NEVER abused any of his cars.

Great post. No one has ever driven my car. Not even my wife b/c she can not drive a stick. I told her that if she wanted to learn then we'd go practice in a rental or something. The only drawback is that in an emergency if she ever needs to drive...then what?
But no one has as much as sat in the drivers seat. I've found that people do not respect my stuff the same way I'd respect theirs. It pisses me off and consequently, I don't allow other people to drive this car.

I let my EX girlfriend drive my car when I got in some trouble across town in her car, and she did fine with it. However, the next time she drove it she cut someone off who decided to follow us. She then gave it gas to try and take off and didnt know how to use the wipers/ headlights, so as she punched it (we were going down a hill) she turned the lights off, looking for the wipers, and this was at 930 PM and almost crashed my car. Needless to say, I was pissed and she was never allowed to touch my car again.
Other than that I let my mom and dad drive it whenever they take it in/pick it up from service. I also used to let my mom drive it to pick me up from the train station, and she drove it in 3rd gear the entire way instead of D. I wasn't too happy about that, and I don't know if it could impact my transmission, but I sure don't think it was a good thing. I also have let my roommate drive it if I was drunk to go get food at night, but I never leave the car unattended.
So, in short, I think I am too trusting with my car considering I let NO one but me drive my previous car

To be honest, no one has every driven my car except when I have had to much to drink. Even then, it's only one person who drives it. I hate it all the way home, I'm constantly thinking how I would've shifted there or done this. It's better than leaving it parked in downtown Albany I guess....

girlfriend keeps asking and i keep denying, except when i drink she definitely drives.
she has her own car but i love the max so much that i keep driving a lot more then she does, her's a is 4 banger so she likes to feel the power of my sixer once in a while.
other than that, every one must BACK OFF!!!

especially when someone else is driving it feels weird, i feel a complete loss of control, i constantly think, i would do this now or that now depending on the situation.

I let my girlfriend drive the stick once so far. She has an Infiniti G20t that I toss around but she drives dangerously although comes from a racing family so she is good and never had an accident. I get a little stressed about other people running my clutch but chicks that drive sticks are hot.

wow, and she's got a banging *** on top of that............
My mom's driven my car several times, but when I asked her about the horrible clutch chatter she said she didn't notice it, hummm...... Other than that only my buddy john, he has a 13 second stick mustang and used to have an I30 as well, he's one of the few people I'd let drive my car and vice-versa. It's difinitly weird being in the passanger seat for sure, you feel the acceleration and gear changes in a completely different way.

I've tried to get my family and friends to drive my car, so they can see why I love it so much. But they never drive more than a block, before the torque freaks them out. Even my gf gets freaked out, and she normally drives a 3.8L. Apparently, modulating the gas pedal is a lost art. Everyone just jumps in and mashes the pedal. Sheesh...

I will occasionally trade a drive in my car for a drive in someone else's car, if I really want to drive it...so far: Camaro Z28 6-speed, hopped-up DSM TSI, and new Subaru STI
But I can still count on one hand (almost) the number of people who have driven it since it came into my possession...I have put too much time and money into this car to let someone else dog on it...

I don't mind. Its a decent car and its relatively quick, but I'd feel like a bit of a tool telling somebody "oh no, you can't drive my maxima" I guess if somebody I knew was a moron and didn't respect my stuff I wouldn't let them drive any of my cars, but it probably wouldn't make a difference if it was my grocery-getter civic or my grocery-getter maxima. My 450 horse firebird, on the other hand will get sideways in a hurry even with 295 series tires on the back. I'm hesitant about that one.

My car is 5sp, and I recently taught my gf to drive it. She's the 5th person I've taught to drive stick w/my car, and my ACT's nearing 90k miles, still going strong. What made the most improvement was the ES motor mount inserts. With them, a newbie looks like a pro... smooth engagement and much more difficult to stall.
Anyways, my brothers and dad can drive my car... mom doesn't kno 5sp. When I valet, I tell the valet guy to jump in the back seat, and let me park it in valet parking area. I tip him well.
When I worked as a valet, I treated the cars with respect. Pisses me off when others don't!
