If you need something like that in your engine you need some work done to it. There is no liquid cure for a mechanical problem as far as I know.

^^^dude, what's up with the bold italics?

anyways, I used it in my car around the time I bought it. Drove the car for a while first to get a feel for it (obviously need a baseline to compare to), then added the restore to my oil during an oil change. Never really felt any changes, so who knows if it works. Probably not.

Bold italics is my style. I believe it's something you use on badly maintained and worn engines.

I wouldnt use it unless you had a low compression problem in a cylinder or two and wanted a cheapo temporary fix for it. For what it's worth, I've actually read that it works

Well, to everyone else it just looks like you're stressing every single word that you say.

My engine has 185k on it now, still running great. Just keep giving it fresh oil and you should be fine.

Snake oil.....Stay far away from it and all other so called "engine restore" products in a bottle...

The only thing you need to do is regular oil changes for as long as you own the car...

I agree. I don't think it will do any good on a car that is running right. If you have low compression, it might be a decent temporary band-aid.

Like Mr. Bold Italic said, it won't cure an actual mechanical problem.

The name is Zero Deuce. Instead of worrying about someone's choice of fonts, let's just give the OP some input on his question please. I believe that this stuff is something thick like Lucas oil treatment and will only mask the problems it claims to help.

Listen, as far as everyone else is concerned it's akin to typing in all caps. If you want to you can, but it's annoying, attention grabbing, harder to read, and to most of the members makes you look like an idiot.

I'm just saying...

Back on topic, In my 93 I had pretty loud lifter noise, nothing bad, but annoying. I put that stuff in and it went away. I use it anyway on my 02, but I dont know if I'm doing anything. It cant hurt, but it does work on lifter noise.

If you had a 93 SE,then what you were hearing was VTC clack, not lifter noise..

Restore

Yes I have used this ..not on my nissan but on my jeep it is amazing under extreme conditions if your engine has cylinder scrapes and scratches it will raise the compression most definately but if it aint broke dont fix it ..its some thick stuff and can clog things on occasion by the way can anyone tell me if my 02 came from the factory with synthetic or standard oil....???

Why would we ignore them Mr Bold Italic? I would venture to guess you want the exact opposite.

It doesn't matter what I want. If you want to read my posts, fine. If you don't like my style then keep it moving.

if your questioning the condition of your engine, might as well get a UOA from blackstone http://theoildrop.server101.com/forums/ubbthreads.php

I used it in an old truck. Seemed to cut down the oil consumption quite a bit. That may be because it does what it claims to do, or just because it thickens the oil up a bit which tends to help on old worn out motors. My opinion is: if your motor is in bad enough shape for you to be thinking about "restore" in a can, you may as well give it a shot because its probably almost toast anyway.

Would not use it unless it was a cheap temporary fix to keep an old beater running. On the max, no way
