Hey, up until a week ago, my car would have pounded on your car given a nice flat road. That was a FACT, not ambition.

Since then i added a y pipe and ran 14.7 ... ALSO i have a straight pipe, no CAT .. so i am looking 14.4/14.5 even if it was a v6 he was getting walked like no tommorow..
hahaha...dayum those are some kicka$$ times. You'd certainly blow the crap out of me. I haven't been to the track yet but with Denso Iridium plugs and a CAI I'd probably hit 15.7-15.8 or so.

oh by the way.. my gf has a 5spd I-4 .. it actually has more go after 110 than the v6 does.. #1 its in VTEC .. #2 that 5th Gear vs that 4th Overdrive .. #3 I raced my gf on the way to the club and she was doing a better job and she had 4 people in her car .. maybe she is a better driver?
ummm....NO WAY - your gf was definitely doing a better job. A stock Accord V6 will smoke a stock I4 5-spd. A heavily modded Accord I4-5spd can put about a car on a stock V6 to 60mph but after that the V6 will pull hard right back and end up being 1-2 cars ahead at the 1/4 mile.

What happens with the V6 is that if you leave the shifter in D4 (equivalent to Max "D" w/OD on) it'll upshift to 4th gear at around 100mph (105 indicated, about 5700rpm). After that if you downshift to D3 the ECU will think that it's a misshift and just leave it in 4th and you can't get to 3rd from then on until you massively slow down. That's probably what happened from your experience.

When an Accord V6 is racing to high-speeds they need to leave it in D3 so that 4th is locked out and so that they can pull another 600rpm up to redline in 3rd which is at 116mph (actual, about 120 indicated). Doing that an Accord V6 will smoke any I4 5spd Accord.

I'd believe that an I4 5-spd running flat out in the lowest gear possible at around 100mph (4th?) would pull on a V6 stuck with the premature upshift to our ultra-tall overdrive gear.
