A funny thing happened while my engine oil was being changed for the first time today on my new Y2K. The mechanic, (not a nissan dealership) doing it, wanted to be nice and check the tire pressure for me. So he and I searched the usual places for the sticker with the recommended inflation rates. Ended up going to the manual which stated the sticker was inside the glove compartment. Yup...NO sticker at all. Was this a manufacturers oversight,or do none of YOUR Max's have any such sticker? The only other hint in the manual was to never inflate the tires above limits posted on the sidewall of the tire.....duuuuhhhhh.

Another question...are the tire pressures usually recommended on these stickers relevant to anything at all, given the vast variety of after market tires people put on their cars????? If not who IS the authority on proper tire pressure?..the tire manufacturer?? the automaker??? or my dog who I'm always chasing away from the rubber?????

under armrest

The sticker is under the center console lid states 32 PSI. The tires state a maximum psi of 44. I set the psi to 32 on my 2k1 SE.

wrong info is being taught. the info on the tire is the max rating at which it can handle for sustained periods. go with the factory recommend specs, not the specs on the tire.
