My new Maxima has about 3000 miles on it now, and although I havent been abusing it, I have been driving it fast so havent bothered worrying about fuel consumption. Decided to give the car a break this week, so gave it to the wife for her daily highway commute..YAWNNNN..She started with a full tank of gas, filled almost to the cap, and here we sit, towards the end of the week with 366 miles on it since the fill up, with slightly less than a quarter of a tank showing on the gauge. will it make 400 miles?? Where's Cosmo Kramer when you need him?? Thats way better mileage than my Outback used to get or than my mom's Y2K Beetle consumption...Yeah....mom just turned 80. Coolest granny in the neighbourhood. Maybe in contention for the oldest new Bug driver around..now there's a pic that needs to be posted!

the grand kids and I tried our darndest to get her to go for the yellow bug, but she went for silver one instead BUT WITH a sunroof. We tried to slip in the 1.8 turbo as part of the buy, but the salesman NEW that it wouldnt be granny only driving it then!! so the #@#!### sales guy convinced her to NOT get the turbo!!!!!!!!!

Good #'s

I've gone over 400 once in my 96, but I don't think we get better mileage than a 4cyl VW. We just have a longer range b/c of the bigger tank.

375-445...it just depends

I can hit about 375 mixed highway and city. On the highway I have gone as high as 445. I have gotten as high as 30mpg and as low as 19mpg.

Again 95SE w/62k, CAI, Stillen muffler and a tired ol' slush box
