Hi everyone,

I've been having this problem from just about the very same time that I had a new striaght through muffler installed. What happens is that about 5 to 10 percent of the time, while I am normally accelerating when the car reaches 40 mph, and the tranny is about to shift (2-3 i guess), there is a hesitation. It's not that it takes too long to shift, it's more like it pauses while the engine continues to increase revs at normal pace, and then after a second of feeling like it was in neutral it does catch and it's fine. There is not a large jerk as it shifts, but definitely a lag you can feel. It doesn't really exist for even a full second i think, but definitely something I notice as it happens. If you all might have any insight as to why this is happening, please respond.

Thank You!!!

Amit

slipping tranny could be caused by a bad shift solenoid...

hmmm... this is isn't making me feel very good, but it's under atleast extended warranty, so how likely is this problem if it's only happening at 40 mph? Also how big of a deal is a 'bad shift solenoid'?

thank you!

if it is under warranty, they should take care of it for you. Replacing a shift solenoid isn't all that bad.... if that is the only problem.

First off if it's under warranty go back to the dealer, HOWEVER you said you have a staright through muffler ? wut do you mean by that ? you put a pipe instead of a muffler, you did you entire exhaust ?

it could be a bad solenoid or it could just be the Tranny control module not functioning properly. There is a few things you could to do test this but since you car is under extended warranty i'd say not to do anything. however make sure you remove any mods you may have that might void your warranty
