Hi fellas, I have been thinking of doing a custom CAI or even buying one for a while. There is one thing that is still holding me back. I had the POP charger on for a while and I decided to go back to the stock set-up because of all the people that notice better lowend power. Well I noticed the differnce, but I still want more performance!!! I live in Miami and I know I will really benefit from a CAI, but will it kill my lowend power like the POP charger did?? From my understanding the CAI will improve lowend power due to the length of the pipe, etc.

What would you do??

Thanks,
Kevin

Oh btw I also miss the awsome intake sound!! BBBRRRROOOOOOOMMMMM!

from my experience with the VG auto + CAI and no other mods there was a loss in the lowend. Kill is a harsh word but a loss was noticeable. It improved the upper end greatly though. Once I added the Y and the rest of my exhaust system, the lowend has since been returned (especially when i just had the CAI + Y)

I doubt you would lose any "low rpm" power with the CAI. I didn't notice any loss, however my low rpm power was the same as stock/cone fitler though. Its just that the midrange torque makes the lowend feel weaker when its not. However measuring the MAF voltage with both intakes at 1000-3000rpm at 500rpm intervals will tell the real story.

hmmmm.....

...ok u guys really haven't instilled a lot of confidence in the CAI to make me drop $150 on it. I think I might just stick with stock set-up. Maybe one day I will just give in a buy it and find out.

Thanks,
Kevin
