Does Fuel Injector Cleaner really work when you pour it into your gas tank?

I made the same question a while ago and Daniel B. Martin said they do. Thus, I just bought a bottle for myself

OK, But the fuel injectors are messed up. The car shakes when you accelerate. I know that this is the fuel injectors because I have had this problem before. So, do you know if it will clean out the injectors & stop the shaking?

it could be your spark plug if your car is shaking.

Fuel injector cleaner works if you are using it to treat a symptom. For example, you say your engine shuddering is caused by the injectors, so in this case, a bottle of Chevron Techron Concentrate (not Progard) will work. But don't use fuel additives all time, as they are quite expensive. A steady diet of name brand fuel will keep your fuel system clean over time.

yeah...

I used some Mobil Complete or somethin like that, but I seem to be having some shuttering problems AFTER i used it. So I would only use it if you know there is a problem with the injectors.

Like Dan B said, don't use it to treat a problem you don't have.

I am really not experiencing any problems with the injectors, but when I did my oil change the mechanic told me the injectors are kind of dirty. Should I go ahead and use it?

ProGard will work just fine. It's simply Techron Concentrate with the addition of a mild injector cleaner.

90MaximaSE,

It could be number of things. It coult be your fuel injector
, bad spark plugs, one or more of the spark plug wires with
high resistance, could be one of your vacuum lines, and etc.
You might want to check everything before assuming it's
your fuel injectors. Good luck!!!

when i had shuddering problems, the mechanic said one of the cylinders wasn't working because the fuel injector was dead and had to be replaced... would a cleaner fix that?

Guverment,

If your fuel injector is bad enough to be plugged up, a
fuel cleaner won't help. You'll need to take the injector
apart and blow compressed air through it and take a gumout
carb/injector cleaner and spray into it and get rid of any
anomalies.
