I am wondering what kind(s) of wax/polish do you use and why?I have a 96 white Maxima that i am going to wax soon. The waxes that i have is as follows Meguiar's gold class, deep crystal deep polish, mirror glaze #7,cleaner wax(will not use that),eagle one ultra glaze and sealer, carnuba wax,nu finish car polish and turtle wax super hard shell paste wax.I want protection and shine and how old is too old for these to be to not to use,all of these are liquid except the turtle wax is the paste. What kind do i need to use on the black panels between the doors seems like i was told polishing compound or rubbing compound(cant remember)and what about the panles in the front bumper and what wax for the wheels.Any other tips that would help,i plan to use backward and forward instead of circle when i wax.I want to try prestone bullet wax(is it still made),turtle wax super hard shell car wax,or rain-x car wax consumer reports did a test last yr and these 3 did what i want seems like.thanks

I have had good success with Turtle Wax. Meguiars has good shine and luster, but the protection doesn't last very long. Generally I've found that the shinier the finish, the less durable it is!

I have tried Rain-X Ultra Wax. Easy to "wax on, wax off," smelled good, came with applicator, but left a chalky powder when you take it off and didn't last more than a week or two. Worked as well as Rain-X when applied on glass, in making water bead off.

3M products for me. Even after 3-4 months, ungaraged, the water beads up perfect after rainstorms.
