There was this nice looking lowered vw that I saw out in town, and he pulled up beside me and asked if I wanted to run from a dead stop. I said sure, so we went to the interstate on-ramp and stopped side by side. Most people around here don't have anything done to their cars, so I wasn't worried. We took off and I got him off the line, but I heard him spinning because he had a 5spd. when my car shifted to 2nd, he gained about 1/4 car on me, but I gained it back on the top end of 2nd. Then, when my car went into 3rd, he just started walking on me slowly at first then he was gone, probably beat me by 3 or 4 cars till we let off. I was shocked, because I have beat these things before. We got back on the interstate going the other way and hit it about 30, this time he used the nos and was gone. We pulled over back in town and talked. He was shocked that I hung with him at all. He said he tried to hit the nos the 1st time but the bottle was off. I thought he had a turbo 4 cylinder, but it was the vr6. They had taken all of the sound deadening out, and anything else to save weight. He had only bolt-on mods, and he said he dyno'd 204 hp N/A. He has a 60 shot of nos now. He also has a quaife diff, but he didnt have his racing slicks on. He invited me to go to the 1/4 track with him on friday somewhere in alabama, but I have to work. He said that he runs low 8's in the 1/8th mile track that is local here. He should be in the low 13's I think at the 1/4 track. I was happy that I hung so well at least for a little while. He was the first guy that I have talked to that knew anything about cars, and he also hates hondas like me.
