I can't find any information on this car anywhere. Can someone give me some stock specs like 0-60 and quarter mile times? Plus, I heard that these turbo cars lose some power yearly. Is this true? I thought that the parts get worn in and that it would get a little faster over 40,000 miles. Are these cars reliable at all?

I don't know, but the 86 to 88 Pontiac Fiero GTs are cool and fast with the 5spd.

Sold realy well in 84 the first year, 88 was the last. If they had made the 89, we would have had something like this:

Well.....

from what I've heard the turbos are QUICK! 14 second cars and these times I found seem to back that up:

1990 Toyota MR2 Turbo 6.2 14.7
1991 Toyota MR2 8.5 16.3
1993 Toyota MR2 Turbo 6.1 14.7
1994 Toyota MR2 6.2 14.8 <--non-turbo?????
1995 Toyota MR2 Turbo 6.2 14.8

1995 Toyota MR2 Turbo 6.2 14.8
1993 Toyota MR2 Turbo 6.1 14.7
1992 Toyota MR2 Turbo 6.1 14.7
1990 Toyota MR2 Turbo 6.2 14.7

I don't think they loose enough power with these numbers. I saw one running at Maxus and it was fast as hell.

sorry I was OT, but that is one of the few only other mid engine cars. I always liked how the late model MR2s looked. They are great looking cars!

Hey, I used to own an 88 white Fiero GT.. It was quick for its day and age and a chick magnet..
Got rid of it cuz I kept having electrical problems with it.

Yeah they had bookoo kits for Fiero's.. Lambo kits, Testarossa kits, etc... It would have been pretty cool to do the V8 conversion.. I have only met one person who did the V8 conversion.. He was putting out over 300 hp.. or something to that effect.

Yeah they were notorious for electrical problems.. My headlight relays kept going out.. So my headlights always stayed up.. I spent about $1500 in electrical repairs before I was like screw this.. I traded the car in and got me a Nissan pickup which I eventually traded in for my Maxima.

the new ones are fast too!

they have the Celica GT engine
but that light weight and rwd make right between the GT and GT-S in 1/4 times
and they got more aftermarket than celicas do

yup for a coupla thousand dollars you can swap in the Caddy Northstar V8... even thought i dont like that route.. i'd supose it'd be hella heavy... i'd be wondering about the 3.4L DOHC V6 swap... fron the old Z34s... tuned pushin out 280hp
MR2s are a mixed bag... the turbos are quick as hell while the NA ones are slow... and well in my area all i see are NA Autos...

Here is a pic of a nice one that was at Maxus. The car was doing the 1/4 in low 13's. You had to hear it too.

We have a really clean 85 Fiero GT. I'll post some picks, Runs strong, has a munchie stick shift, a holley TB, and side intake, and Accel Super coil, K&N, and few other small things. Don't drive it much, (Usually in the 5th gen or the C4) but it gets a LOT of lookers every time we take it out, so we are using it for shows, and have the company logo on the front and rear glass, and co-workers use it if they are ever out of a car.

If the ingine ever blows, will get a super charged 38000 engine in it They are cheaper to go really fast in then the toyota.

A neighbor of mine had the very rare Indy Pace car Fiero with the cool red/grey seats. Didn't see many of those running around.. There was another guy who had an 88 like mine but his was maroon.. He used to own a sweet 280ZX Turbo but traded it in for the Fiero.

Fieros are a perfect example of GM giving up on a promising product and leaving it a failure...
if they did more development on the Fiero... did a lil bit more on making it higher quality... a new interior... a DOHC engine... it would have been an amzing car... truly unique... but well thats how it goes... maybe we'll get the Opel Speedster here... 2.2L 150~ hp... but 0-60 in 5.8 an awesome 'sports' car

@ the races

A Supra TT and a Mr2 went at it!! The MR2 almost won...it was such a close race! In fact the MR2 was winning all but the last second of the race!
both cars were really modded out!
