Remanufactured wheel, need advice
Hello all,
I need some advice.
I had my bumpers recently worked on at a local body shop, touted for the quality of their work.
Get the car back and find some scratches (they did it when putting the bumpers back on), red paint smear (very small, and a spot they missed. Couple of dust specs painted over too.
That'll get fixed ok (sans the dust specks). Main problem is that they gouged one of my rims when they took the "cap" off of it.
I thought they'd just fix the wheel. Instead, the shop wants to provide a "remanufactered" replacement.
I don't want a "remanufactered" wheel. I want OEM quality. Any suggestions as to my rights and what can i do? After two days of deliberations. I just left messages at the shop letting them know I am concerned with this and kindly request an OEM quality wheel. I also am waiting for a callback from my insurance co.
Your feedback is appreciated.
THANKS!

Not a direct answer to your question
But it may be moot.
Nissan wants a zillion $$ for an OEM wheel, but you can have an identical, non remanufactured wheel from the likes of www.aaarims.com or www.wheelcollisioncenter.com, possibly for less than they'd ahve to pay for the remanufactured wheel. Show them some prices and see what they do.
What they _should_ do is not have the customer doing work for them, but that's another story.
Another thing to consider: If they didn't tell you it was remanufactured, would you have known?
