I'm shopping for a car right now...I decided to get a good deal on a 2001 Max since its end of year sale. But I have been reading on the 2002 Max and Altima and if they are going to cost the same as this year I think the 2002 models are a better deal. But this is the email that I got from the dealer I'm dealing with right now when I emailed him and told him I was considering the 2002.

"I'm more motivated to sell the remaining 01s at a good price. I won't be
selling ANY V6 Altima SE at any where near invoice, that's for sure. And a
new 02 Maxima will be at least $1k over invoice, more for the hot new 6
speed. We'll want to make some money on those in the first few months.

But I am able to make you the kind of deal you want on a 01."


What do you guys think I need a new car soon I might be able to wait 2 or 3 more months but not more than that. Should I just buy the 2001 or wait to see if they sell at invoice????

 

you will get more rebates, from the dealer and manufacturer. when i bought a 99 in 2000 i got a gxe with convenience package for $21,000 out the door. sticker price was $22,500. just some advice, if you want a good deal.

 

go to another dealership, noway on earth is the maxima going above MSRP

 

Does anyone know if Nissan will offer some rebates or incentives other than the 3.9% APR on the 2001 Maximas...to clear them out??????

 

I'm positive they'll start doing that towards the end of the year. Most people don't even know about the 2k2 Max being out yet.

 

this guys pulling your leg man hes a typical dealer... theres a member on here called bluefish he works at a dealership you might want to ask him if this is true... they order all of the new cars and since there was a big change for 02, who would want to buy a 01 max? since noone wants to buy it, they have to sell it some way... this leads them into doing everything they can to sell you the older model... also you notice how youll never hear a dealer say our new model is coming out soon you should wait until then and come back down to check it out.. they live for today not tomorrow lol... on a last note if you do get a 01, make sure you get every option it has, try for an anniversary edition and make sure you pay as little as possible... since he needs to get rid of them he will give you a low price, you just have to know how to work down
