OK... so I didn't run a 13.9 what happened is the people at the track got all confused some how and I was given a timeslip with my car's number on it and a 13.9 time... I ran the run against ejj and after comparing slips we noticed that his was the correct slip for both of us and I really ran a 14.72 @ 93.

I'm a little let down by the y-pipe: it has more growl than power but I'm also getting used to the new way my car drives so I think I will shave another 1/10 off and hopefully get about a 14.60

I ran several low 14.7s mostly with traps of 93. The other ticket in the picture above shows my best run:

60' 2.216
330 6.216
1/8 9.514
mph 74.79
1000 12.338
1/4 14.726
MPH 93.78

also: my computer broke so don't expect to see me on the .org as much these next few days... but flame away guys!

The funniest thing is, this fooled Aaron too! We got out of the cars after getting back from that run and he was thrilled. I didn't know why, his run was good, but not his best!

He really thought that he ran the 13...the look on his face when I broke the news to him was priceless.

Yep, stock GXE 15's with stock Bridgestones @ 20psi.

14.599 @ 95

Besides Aaron, I was still winning when I had my 17's.

Like I said, you'll never win

Yeah, I couldn't touch your times...but head to head you always would miss a shift or something.

Bottom line? I would win.

so aaron you want me to install a nos kit for you or not. a 40shot is all you'll need. and you won't even need a fp gauge or anything. like 500bucks if you catch the sale at jcwhitney and for all the odds and ends.

Re: Re: hey blue..

i now know that my runs are simply just average. however, if i hadn't posted my time..i wonder how many people would have been motivated for these couple of weeks to go out, match and beat my time out of a near stock GXE..i hope everyone keeps pushing the limits out of their NA and SCed maximas! every 5 speed in good condition should be able to get sub 15 second runs at least in my opinion.

hmmm NOS! -but not yet.. I have to see what I can do with my y-pipe on still but in about 3 months ejj could go down for good because I know he won't get nos or an SC.... when he's not looking I'm going to fill the back of his car with cinder blocks so that I win!

Now that's not nice! You really going the NOS road?

Did you ever go to the track before you got the catback? Just wondering what to expect.

Man, why's it seem like everyone's against me. Just because I have a fast car!!

blue - you sure you wanna go the NOS route...you may end up running 15.2's like dmb here (j/k)!

Just think if JWT (or GForce) ever makes a chip for the 97-99's that produces like it does on the 95's..add some slicks, pully and a catback...maybe 14.0's...13.9's NA?!? I know that most likely won't happen, but hey, anything is possiable!

Like I said Friday night, I'd consider a SC if and when the max is my second car. I don't really want to deal with the headache's when its my only car.

E.. i checked those stock STEEL hubs.. they are heavier than the SE 16's, they are heavier than my 18's and they are way heavier than my cousin's GS 400 rims.. the lightest of the bunch... the SE 16's were next in lightest.. so now i don't know wether to run in my 18's or borrow my cousin's 16's.. E.. borrow.. big blue's 16's once and show him what 14.3 is like..

sure they are heavier... but the fact that they are only 15" is proving to be the improtant factor... just look what happened to ejj's times when he did the swap

He he I've asked Aaron to do a rear wheel swap with me at the track, but he wouldn't go for it. It's okay. These are good enough. 14.3's will be here soon enough

Besides, the steel wheels are WAY lighter than my 17's. I don't have a scale, but when I had one of each off the car I compared, and there is probably a 7-10lb difference!

blue: You're right the smaller diameter of the wheel makes a big difference. Its all about rotational mass. Gotta love Physics

I'm sure if you bought a new y-pipe you would run the same times as me if not better. I told you, I saw a .2 gain just by replacing that pipe that I gave you. I don't know how much of that was the flange, but I'm sure it wasn't the entire problem!

Sprint, thanks for backing me up. These guys just can't stand the GXE's are faster. Hell, I've got close to 60lbs on blue and that isn't even helping him! Imagine if I was his size!

no, that's just some bull$hit old people tell you. there are plenty of people on here running nos that just don't talk about it as much. you can run up to a 100shot on stock internals as long as you do some tranny work(cooler and vb) and get a new fuel pump. that 3000 miles **** is bull. if you do it right it won't hurt the car very much at all.
