i got new breaks about a month ago. they're nothing special. the dealer put them on along with a lot of other stuff i had to get done to my car. so, like i said ive only had them for a month and they're already rusting. my mom bought a minivan from this same dealer a long time ago and she had 6 sets of breaks in 4 years or something rediculous like that. i wanted to know if this is too early for rust to start forming on the discs. i dont really trust this dealership so i wanted to get some more opinions.

Well bud, rust forms in a few days on rotors and brakes. It is quite normal to see brand new cars with rust on the rotors. My 2001 had rust on the rotors when i bought I thought nothing because i know it happens. Go down to your local dealership and look at some new Maximas I am sure alot of them will have rust around the brakes.

Totally agreeing with MONTE this is very normal, I would think its very rare that a car would not have this on the rotors, after sitting around for the night, or a whole day.

i figured it would happen sooner or later but when i went out to my car today it jummped out at me. we had about a months worth of rain yesterday so maybe that had something to do with it. i dont know. it doesnt look that great but if its normal then i guess ill get over it. thanks

Probably Not. Mine always look rusted. Yes I hate it, but there's nothing I can do about it

The contact area of the rotors will lose the rust when you drive it.

Like deezo said the rust on the contact area of the rotors will go away after normal driving. The only solution for non-rusting rotors is to get new cad plated rotors I just got mine from Fastbrakes and they haven't rusted yet even though it rained.

hah. i did the same thing. i had to check so i didnt look like a fool. i posted another post but it i think my cat somehow deleted it when she jumped on the keyboard. it just said that i went to go get a haircut and that short drive got rid of the rust. i guess it was just from sitting in the driveway for a day. so everything is alright now.
