Breaks rusting?
#1
i got new breaks about a month ago. they're nothing special. the dealer put them on along with a lot of other stuff i had to get done to my car. so, like i said ive only had them for a month and they're already rusting. my mom bought a minivan from this same dealer a long time ago and she had 6 sets of breaks in 4 years or something rediculous like that. i wanted to know if this is too early for rust to start forming on the discs. i dont really trust this dealership so i wanted to get some more opinions.

Well bud, rust forms in a few days on rotors and brakes. It is quite normal to see brand new cars with rust on the rotors. My 2001 had rust on the rotors when i bought I thought nothing because i know it happens. Go down to your local dealership and look at some new Maximas I am sure alot of them will have rust around the brakes.

Like deezo said the rust on the contact area of the rotors will go away after normal driving. The only solution for non-rusting rotors is to get new cad plated rotors I just got mine from Fastbrakes and they haven't rusted yet even though it rained.
