I laugh every time I see someone who has added side marker lights to their quater panels to look more european or japanese. Not that I have a problem with them in general, I think they are a great idea when installed properly. I just dont get the people who wire them so they come on with the parking lights and glow constantly. Don't these people know they are directional indicators on the cars that get them from the factory? Sorry, maybe my obsession with function over form and go over show gets the best of me sometimes, this is why I despise huge decals and nasty "combat" body kits too...dont even get me started on blue headlights and massive exhast tips.

Of course people know they are a directional indicator from the factory, but everything is up for grabs on your car. What might be gross to you is beautiful to someone else and vice versa.

Put it this way... how boring would it be if everyone's car looked exactly the same - only different colors. That's what customization is all about, just another way of expressing yourself.

I like the side markers that are on when the parking lights are on. I'll be doing that to my car. Some of the body kits are getting out of hand w/ the shark mouth front ends and those double decker wings too. But it's personal taste. Those advertisement stickers that show off stereo equipment are like come steal me signs.

Thats right what would it be like if every car looked exactly the same just different color. I personaly like the the side markers with diffrent color bulbs in them that stay on all the time, I like the aggressive kits that look all monster like.. Personaly I wont to make my max look all crazy and aggressive and stuff, I wont to make it look like a little diffrent that just the normal stillen kit and what ever.

People are just trying to make there cars different. I don't want my car to be just like the other normal maxes. Just too plain and no individuality in there.

Right on Brotha !!!!

Preach the word. We don't have much to choose from so it's harder to be different than other Max's. Now, I'm not sure if any of us would go with the fake fabric top but, a little difference is nice.

I hear you. Problem is just about every Maximas that have a bodykit out there have Stillen's kit. Not like we get to choose. I wish we have more choices out there like Hondas/Acuras. I don't care for the outrageous kits that you see on some Hondas/Acuras, but I would like to see more choices of clean looking kits for the Maximas.

I wish there was more body kits for the max, but we all know that other companies aren't going to make them. The only way "we" can be different is to get a custom body kit done by a shop.

You can also try buying another brand kit and custom fit it to your max. I don't know who did it but it is possible.

Just remember:

Anything can be done with money.

How about the pic of the person that turned their 5th gen into a skyline? If you want it bad enough, it just takes some dead presidents.

Where would you go to get a custom kit made???

How would you convert a kit form another car to fit on a max??

I have a 3rd gen and my other question would be what kit could you convert to fit it??

Thanks in advance for answers every one!!!

custom kit..

Drive into NYC find one of the premier ...chopshops..oops i mean hookup shops and they'll do it for you..

At a NYC car show this summer I saw...
93 civic hatchback .. OKay now

with a BMW M3 front .. lights bumper the whole nine

And 97 SUPRA rear end ..

it looked hella nasty .. ugh...
the ironic thing is i went with my two cuz's and they drive and M3 and a TT supra.. the best of both worlds...

I saw a 4runner with a gs front. You can buy like a honda kit and get someone to install it for you or you can leave your car in erebuni for 3 months and they will make a custom kit for you for an arm and a leg. I think it will be cheaper to buy a honda accord wingswest kit and put it on your car. It won't be as much and depending on the person he can make it look tight.

Well I dont live in NY so that is out of the question.. Now if I bought a Honda Accord kit how would I convert it to my 3rd gen max?? Would I just take it some shop that installs kits and get them to do it or who else would I get to do it?? What would you need to do to convert it???
What kit would be the closest fit with out having to do major major work?????

The best thing is to buy a fiberglass kit. It can be either wingswest, erebuni, black widow, etc etc. The autobody guy can use molding for you car and cut the body kit for an exact fit. Depending on experience he can make it look real tight. That's why you see so many cars with other tail lights on there car. Like that bmw 3 series with s2000 lights. Anything is possible with money and a guy who has skills. My friend has a y2k golf and he shaved the whole trunk. There is no room to put his license plate, handle to open the trunk and keyhole. It looks real tight. The guy who did it is now doing a skyline front on an integra.
