help - 5 spd transmission noise
I have a 1994 5 spd SE maxima. I have a transmission noise I like to get some assistance on.
When the clutch is engaged, there is a mechanical rotating noise. The noise decreases with increasing gears (ie. louder in 1st then in 5th). When the clutch is fully depressed, the rotating noise goes away. I have no problem shifting 1st to 5th. The noise is less in 4th and 5 th gear. I am certain it is a mechanical noise but what bothers me is how can it happen instantly?
Everything was fine until I let the car sit in the driveway for two weeks while waiting for some other parts to come in. Then one morning, I drove the car and this noise came about.
Can bearings failed instantly? What went wrong? Tnanks.

Which bearings on yours was messed up?
I do not drive mine hard at all, how did the trans overheat?
