Equation:

Nissan Customer Care = oxymoron

I hate to say this, but I would insist their insurance company total out your car, or just "give" you another one of YOUR choosing if they want to avoid insurance.....

You will never get that smell out, and probably have electrical "gremlins"......

errrrr?

Nissan just completely ruined your interior dude. You're interior is never going to be the same. Methinks you should be chasing them for a new car, at their expense.

Holy moly man! That dealer needs to come freakin' clean and do some serious repairs. Take it to a detail/repair shop and ask them how much to remove the seats/carpet and clean everything. Then take it back to the dealer and tell them this is how much it's gonna cost and to whom should I sent the bill. Don't let the dealer recommend a shop becuase it's probably some shop that does crappy but cheap service.

I had a dealer's shop respray my hood, and they did a crap job.

BASTARDS

I would not give up until they replaced your car...or they replace every piece of your interior, headliner to carpet including seats, dash, etc.. I would consult a lawyer if they balk; in that case you could get more (lawyer has to get something). It is absurd that they didn't offer to do so already. This type of behavior is unacceptable. If a tech ran your car into a wall because he wasn't paying attention, they would repaint it and replace the panel, so why shouldn't they do the same here? Both were caused by negligent behavior. BTW, where do you live? I don't ever want to make the mistake of taking my car there, not that I take it to the dealership for anything when I can help it, for fear of sh*t like this happening to me. Good luck and don't back down, don't dare back down no matter what they say.

I appreciate everyone's advice to this topic.. what really sucks is that I don't have proof of cost of anything in my car that they could have ruined.. I talked to dad about it and he said they would ask for receipts on everything aftermarket I have in there.. let me list out what got wet:

Alka Plus Carbon Fiber Dash Kit
Razo Short Throw Sport Shifter
Infiniti Rear Seats and Head Rests
MA Audio components (tweeters had water on them)
Carpeting along ceiling above all door and sunroof
Floor mats (not worried I have diamond plated in the mail for wed)

I really don't know what I could get from them.. I am going to drive down there tomorrow with my car and have them sit in there and smell that s h i t smell from my leather and explain to them that water could have gotten down into my shift column because it is open now that stock shifter was removed..

btw- Hilltop Nissan on RT 10 in East Hanover, NJ

Dude your realize that when a used car is brought into the dealership to be detailed the entire interior is soaked. Yes everything the seats, the sealing, the carpets everything is sprayed down with a pressure washer and degreaser/carpet cleaner is sprayed all over. The only thing i would try to get out of the dealer and the only thing you will probably get is an entire interior detail/refinish.

damn

It will stink bad when things dry up, you better get them to take care of this now, explain how they ****ed up your interior. I don't know, but I think they can fix it up, if anything is affected and doesn't function as it used to, power seats, stereo, shifter ANYTHING, find the problem now and let them know about it. One time when my car was at the dealer for service I got it back about 6 hours later, which is 5 more than they originally said it would take. So I spent some time wondering around and I saw how well they prepare their used cars for service.. Although I did not see them spray the interior with water, I saw how well they cleaned them out, they can detail your car good enough you will never tell the difference from before... I hope u get this taken care of without any problems....

They should have insurance to cover incidents like this ... if they give you a hard time ... call Nissan North America while you're at the dealership (come with the phone #) and explain the situation ...

ya i hate to say bad news but bill is right for once, that's the real bad news hehe. but also your car is never gonna be the same. i would tell them you want another car or a whole new interior or something. that's ridiculous. don't let them get away with it.

First get the smell out, then unleash hell.

If you really need to, get a lawyer.

but here's how to get the smell out: spray a product called "OZIUM" all over the interior of your call. It will smell like chemicals and **** for about a day, then all other smells will be gone. I had a fungus growing in the air conditioning ducts of an older car of mine. The dealer wanted to replace the ducts for like $952948754938, but i just bought some ozium and the smell came out like that.
