Maxima engine swaps
Guys, I am not doubting are VQ power, but at 190 hp, in the year 2001, you kinda thirst for moooorrreee. SO I need your help, yet again. I hear BrokenMotor has a Pathfinder inside his Max, but how? What mods did he have to do to have the Pathfinder perfectly fit under the Maxima's hood?

Okay. 190hp + super charger is about 270hp or more.
Swap 2002 maxima na engine = 255hp.
The sc costs less and is proven. 2002 motor swap is extremely expensive and who knows if it works or it's possible.
Conclusion: Why ***** always insist in ice skating uphill is beyond me.

Well, forced inducted diesels have been going multiple million miles stints for quite some time now.

very true jeff, but the one thing I would like about the swap is that those 255hp would'nt be foreced. NA cars are usually more relaiable {sp}

2. Bigger engine, ours barely fits
3. Non compatible ECU's
4. Trannies are totally different, have fun even getting a Level 10 6-spd
Ok, unless your engine has like over 300,000 miles on it, u can probably fix up your current one for less money and less trouble than getting a swap.
let me tell you, my friend is crazy with his toyota 92 MR2, and I tried to warn him, but no, he got himself an engine swap (i forget which) but it's a nightmare
just go get new pistons and seals and spark plugs and wires and mounts and ... etc etc... until your engine is like new! that's what I'd do if my engine was giving me serious trouble.
but whoever said the first rule of engine swaps is don't talk about engine swaps... true.

1. I could have sworn they are the same?
2. Same size physically. Only thing that might not fit is the Intake manifold or throttle body{like in the 5th gens}. Nothing a hood scoop whouldnt fix
.3. Of course, you whould definatly need to use a new ECU{or maybe reprogram ours} and new Engine sensors. Most of that stuff comes with a engine from a junk yard.
4. Get a 6spd tranny or automagic out of the wreck you by the engine from. The tranny's 1/2 the fun!
I don't know about you guys but this subject really sparks my interests! In about a year there will hundreds of totaled 2002 maxima in junk yards. This means a engine and tranny will cost about 2 Grand! The iffy install is a whole other issue though..
When i said about using the new m3 engine I ment i would take out all factory nissan parts realted to the engine. I woun't try to mix and match. Besides i'm no where near ready to think about acutally doing it. Just a thought so when the tranny and engine die I have an interesting plan.
