I was driving my 95 Maxima 5spd today and suddenly, I can't shift into 2nd gear. I fiddle around with the shifter some, and find out that 1st, 3rd, & 5th are OK, but I can't shift into 2nd nor 4th. This tranny has 162K+ miles on it... Any idea what happened? What's my fix look like? Please advise, and as always, thanks for your help.

 

could be your synchroes.

 

Could be your synchronizer, this in not a diy fix and is pricy, may be better to find used tranny. Get under can and check your linkage, make sure it isn't being bound up or has anything loose. I've never heard of a sync going out all th sudden
