but this time I was on 2 wheels instead of 4. The Maxima is out of commission awaiting arrival of new exhaust parts (Cattman Y and Stillen B). I just had got off of work, and I was riding around the mall to leave, and i was goin around the corner but then I inadvertently locked the back wheel. I am usually pretty good at controlling a locked rear wheel skid, except where I locked it up the road takes a 90 degree turn to the right. Needless to say, I ran out of road and went straight into a curb. I got launched a little and me and my bike wound up in the grass. Wow what an embaressment.

So now, I have a motorcycle that has a destroyed front rim, popped tire, destroyed left mirror, scuffed fairing, scuffed alternator cover. I'm going to claim it on insurance tomorow for collision. Hopefully my rates wont go too high. And since the Maxima is out of commission too I have to drive a Camry.. haha... I should just stop driving altogether for the rest of the month. Worst part is, I have a hurt ego and my birthday is this wednesday... I have bad luck.

Well....

at least you're okay, and all you had was a bruised ego! lately with the sport bike craze going on in my town I've had a few friends wipe out a few times too, one guy in front of a PACKED nightclub(man, that was embarrasing for him!) hope you get your bike back up and running...

I did get hurt a little.. but it coulda been ALOT worse. My left shin is scraped, but didnt even bleed. My left foot is swollen probably from the monster landing on it, but other then that, my ego is hurt the most.

Thanks for the kind words. Anyway perhaps I should consider myself lucky that I'm still able to walk and not unlucky that I wrecked.

Anyway I started the process of insurance. Should take around 7-10 days before I'll be back on the road on 2 wheels. Hopefully it will be just in time for school to start. I have a $250 deductible on collision on this bike so there goes another $250 after I just spent $250 or so on that stillen B (so much for that air compressor...). The good news is, all the damage will be taken care of with new parts. I had to get the bike flat bedded to the motorcycle repair shop and then the damn tow truck driver drops my bike on the good side on the flat bed. At least its all gettin fixed now. I'm not sure how high this will raise my insurance premium either. I also get my choice of new helmet as the insurance company says it coulda been damaged even if I dont think I hit it.

In the meantime I'm driving a lowered Toyota camry. I miss driving a lowered car! If I ever get myself outta the financial hole I'll hopefully lower as well. The maxima is getting worked on as well, taking care of some leaks and repainting the brakes and centercaps...

I almost wrecked

I was pulling right out of a gas station into the far lane b/c the first two lanes had stopped cars. I thought the coast was clear but a car was coming up fast and slammed on his brakes and almost t-boned me. I was off think about something and got a nice little awakening. I gave a "sorry I'm an idiot wave" and drove away slumped down in my chair. Got to pay more attenion to the road.

Man this sucks!! I was almost a victim too. Last night we had a huge rainstorm in the DC, Maryland area. Anyway, I was leaving my friend's house in Greenbelt. As I approached a large intersection just down the street, something told me to stop as fast as I could. I slammed on the brakes and hydroplaned toward the intersection, and as I approached the middle of the intersection, a VW Beetle was coming right towards me (it ran a red light)! The Beetle hydroplaned and missed my car by less then an inch. (driver regained control) People in the MD/DC/VA area cannot drive in the rain.
