Is renting a buffer worth it??
#1
I just recently waxed my car and the paint looks 10x better, but I'm left wanting more. I was thinking of renting a buffer, but I have no experince with them. Can anyone guide me?? What are the do's and dont's?? What will I need??
Thanks,
Kevin

I have the same color car as you. You can't really bring out a super shine (like on a dark color) on a beige max.
Doing the job by hand is the best way IMO, you won't get swirl marks and you are more careful with your strokes.
My advice, use a clay bar. It's crazy wonderful!!

Using a buffer can get you amazing results, but you can burn your paint off if you do it wrong. If you dont use it perfectly you could do better doing it by hand (scared to say handjob
)
its up to you, I dont use one but mine comes out pretty fine except for all the scratches added courtesy to Nissans wonderful paint

Well, Now that I know this, I'm going to forget about the buffer. No sense in leaving swirl marks let alone BURN MY PAINT! Do you think I would see any improvement if I wax it again??
Thanks for all the advice, greatly appreciated.

Why rent? The local Costco has a buffer for $40 or so.
They key to making your car "shine" is to polish then wax. Waxing will protect the paint, but a polish compound will bring the luster out from the paint for that "wet look."
