My friend just came back from Hong Kong and I told him to bring me back some Skyline brochures. He said they weren't selling the skyline at the time (because they're switching to the newer model?), but he did grab a Cefiro and Sunny (is that the sentra?) brochure. I think he also took some pictures of skylines he saw there, so if they're any good i'll post those, too.

Enjoy!

Your wish is my command

I made them smaller, but you can't read the text anymore so use these only if you just want to see the pictures.

I was actually in Hong Kong and Macau about a month ago. Cefiro's aren't too popular there from what I saw. And yes, the Sunny is the Sentra equivalent. There's also an Altima equiv, but I forget the name. Only saw one silver Skyline there (don't know which model cause it zoomed by so quick ad I only caught the lights when I turned around).

I also rode in a Nissan Cima. It seems like a wanna-be Mercedes/luxury car. Very luxurious interior and all I know is that it sports a V8 motor rated at 4400cc (is there a way to find HP equivalent?) There's also something called "President" that looks like a higher class or newer version of the Cima (very similar body style, no clue on interior or under the hood specs).

What seems to be the most popular cars there are Civics (even middle to upper aged folks drive around in modded Civics!!), Lancers (no Evolutions though), and all kinds of Benzs.

Those power ratings were in Kilowatts and Newton-Meters, not horsepower and lb-ft. Metric system guys, metric system

man, we were corrupted with standard mesurement system. Metric is so convenient for everything. I guess we just wanted to be special.

Very nice car BTW. That's some nice advertising.

Very simple 1000cc make's one liter so 4400 cc make 4.4 liter's [cc stands for cubic centimeter's]The CC have nothing to do with horse power and is an indication of ENGINE SIZE

yup, 147KW translates to 197hp. Maybe the Cefiro doesn't have the variable intake manifold thingy that the 5th gens here do. I agree that that blue colour is really nice, they should offer it here.

Read again 200(147kw) It has 200 hp and 147 kw. Its slower then the new I30.

OK, apparently the "PS" on the brochure refers to pferdestärke which is the German word for horsepower, meaning the metric horsepower. The symbol ps is used for horsepower in both the Japanese and German automotive industries.

and the definition for the metric horsepower is:

a unit of power, defined to be the power required to raise a mass of 75 kilograms at a velocity of 1 metre per second. This is approximately 735.499 watts or 0.986 32 horsepower. The unit is also known by its French name cheval vapeur or its German name pferdestärke.

so, it is close, but not the same as hp and it works out to about 197hp. There's your metric lesson for today

This is from the site: http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/

Isn't the Cima the same as the last-generation Q45?

yup, The HK Cefiro is probably using the 2.5L at 210hp. In Taiwan we have the 3.0L and its rated at 220hp, but people here dont really care too much about hp when buying a Cefiro, they actually look for lucky numbers

Isn't the Cima the Q45 here in the US? The President is the most luxurious car offered by Nissan.
