that sounds like the bees in the can that e/o dreads ...

You're going 2 have to wrap the flexpipe with header wrap 2 reduce the sound .. I don't think u can completely eliminate it ...

the noise that i am complaining about comes and goes...
usually occurs after the car has been sitting off for a period of time.

when the car is nice and warm it is rear tha the noise will appear.

Re: i know this isnt the bees in the can noise

Hey,

I notice a huge diff in the pick up of the car ... all throughout the power band there is an increase ... the best part is that I gained back the low-end torque that I lost when I installed the SI ...

Hissing .. yeah I hear some ... but either I'm used to it or it's not that loud ... doesn't bother me ... i'll give u a ride or rev the next time we meet & u can hear & compare it 2 your own ride ...

Sounds like you have a leak. When I had my cattman, it made the sound like a shaking a spray can. I had the proto type pipe with no flex section. With the car running get on the ground and put your hand near the seams of the exhaust. You can feel the air leaking out. Be care full, it is very hot.

I have a similar noise, and I hate it. It's kinda like a loud clicking or popping. I'm just too lazy/cheap to bring it to a shop to look at it and I don't have a reliable jack that I'm willing to climb under the car with, just standard jacks for changing tires, etc. I usually do my work at a friends garage and he's away at school right now. I didn't even notice it until the second or third week after driving the car with my new exhaust (Stillen Y and Stillen Catback) because my windows were always closed and I only hear it when I'm driving next to something to bounce the sound back. My friends noticed driving behind me. It may be an exhaust leak but I don't really have a lot of practical real world experience to diagnose crap.

Hmm-->>

I have the same sound but I have found that it's in the rear exhaust(not the muffler). I got underneath the car and shook the exhaust system and I could hear it sounding like a paint can being shaken. I'm getting a new B pipe section soon..

I think the Y allows the exhaust to breath so much more that debri from the cat or somewhere get blown into that section of the exhaust.. Just a theory though..
