I have the Stillen pop, on my car. They all sound similar. I wished I had gone with a different brand. The Stillen pop has a rubber grometted hole on the end for the temp. sensor. I also had to extend the wire. All in all, buy one without this and zip tie the temp sensor somewhere conveniant to it's location!

From what I've heard, most intakes make a very similar sound.

I have one

I recommend the JWT popcharger if you do not want to spend the extra money. I owned a stillen one also. The JWT was easy to install, no surprises and no sensors to move. It sounds extactly the same and does give 3-5 hp (I think)above 3500 rpm. Sounds really good with my greddy catback which I recommend highly.

And yeah they give a few HP's... but even if there was no gain it is worth it just for the noise! It makes the car sound AWESOME, everyone always loves how my car sounds (including me..)

it has been weeeelllll worth it for me.

I have the JWT with the CAI tubing

http://members.fortunecity.com/breau...r/cai/cai.html

It sounds much better, and once you get a Y-pipe it'll help out much more. The intake alone gives a little power, but that sound is sooo mean!!

is it worth it to cut a hole in the wheel well and make it a cai?

First off, you would have to find the correct kit or make it yourself to work with the velocity stack and larger filter.
Secondly, I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make since I've only had this setup.

Most people are scared to cut a whole in the car, but if you've see where it's at - it would be hard to see even when the CAI is removed. Unless someone looked around really good, I don't think they would notice the hole cause it's blocked by the battery.

I have a place racing intake, it does require you to cut a hole in the bottom part of the engine well, but itwas well worth it. and i belive since it get cold air from the bottom of the car, it adds HP, hope this helps

P.S. I think place racing is one of the cheaper ones to...

Sorry, not true
Cattman, Warpspeed and Place Racing all make CAI and actually Place Racing's is the most.

Warpspeed's in the cheapest, but I'm not sure about it. The filter looks cheap. I'd say for CAI go with Cattman or Place Racing.

WSP CAI

Yes, we do have a no name brand of filter. We think you spend alot for the K&N name, with only ? gains. So far no one has tested them head to head as far as I know.If you don't like the idea of a generic filter we offer our CAI without one, at a reduced price.See our web site. Talked to Dallas last night, we have several different colors of VG in stock, just a few VEs left and several colors left of the 4th gen. We are making more. For specifics call or e-mail Dallas.
