I've seen ads for "Phazer", and "K-40" claiming they can in essence "delay" a police laser reading for a few seconds (enough for you to slow down). Just fluff?

From what Ive read in Reputable Sources...

The general consensus is that they are pretty much worthless. Even though they come with a ticket refund program sometimes, dont forget the resulting increase in Ins. too!!

they do but....

the police apparently can tell when you are jamming them, and pull you over regardless. I would suggest just getting a regular laser detector. Just my .02$

they work

honestly - me and my friend passed a trooper at about 80 on the thruway - well it was 287 close to mahwah - in his car .. trooper prolly new something was up but by the time he got out and what not we had slowed down to 65 - i think he has the detector and jammer so you can slow down ... it works - but then again there are troopers that know that your speeding cuz theyve been doin it for so long ... you can start to judge speeds - if you go constantly at 100 in your car youll notice after a while without lookin at the spdmtr - try it =)

it works but they still know something is up .. its legal in NY i believe

interesting point...

you're right...even I can tell just by looking at cars passing in the oppsosite direction. The car in the left lane that is flying past the others like they are standing still is probably going well over 90...Only makes sense that a police officer could do the same, if not better.

All the reviews say that the passive ones are a mixed bag, they work sorta but not real well. I wouldn't count on one. Active jammers work but are very illegal...

Like deathwish stated, the passive are ok, but they really dont work great and the fact that police know your jamming them isnt great either. They do have jammers that work and they are the active jammers. These are highly illegal. Don't get caught with any of these. Best bet, drive normal. In a rush and late? That's your fault.

Around mahwah area where the limit is 65, they tend to give you more slack there. Roughly everyone in that area speeds around 75-80mph. Just like how everyone in the parkway does 80mph and doesnt get pulled over. Stillnmax, where in NJ are you?

Nope.. The only one that works jams only the -->

X band which is basically passe'. The Laser diffusers work though which is used on rare ocassions but I guess it depends on where you live..

You oughta be able to pick up a surplus Russian jamming pod from a Mig pretty cheap these days. It'd look pretty funny bolted to the roof and it'd suck power like mad, but it'd be a small sacrifice...

But seriously, you can jam the cops and they'll still get you. Even when they clock you on radar the first part of their spiel in court is how they "visually estimated" your speed, as they are periodically recertified to do, and THEN they zapped you with the gun to quantify how badly you were getting busted.

Some of the more amusing theories I've seen for anti-radar revolved around taking away the usual radar targets: diffuser on the front license plate, bra on the hood, etc.

The_quorum - I'm gonna hunt around and see if I still have my Phazer. If so I'll let you have it for a steal. I didn't see much help from it but that's me, a radar fanatic.

Stopped using it when I installed my K-40 http://www.k40.com/Son/UndSonSupLsrFtrs.html

One of the best legal products I've used was the the "Stealth Bra" by Carbrella of Colorado. This was a front bra made by Wolf but lined with radar absorbing materials throughout. Most of my tickets were from front radar reads and that provided similar protection to an active jammer.

doesnt' work.. ya know those statinary speed radars? the ones cops toe and leave on the side of the road with a ugly sign sayin' "speed limit 25" adn it reads your speed? it's Ka band, my friend has the jammer, drove passed it multiple times. and it still reads it's speed. so from that i can tell ya it dont' work. and cops usually use Ka band radar guns. but you can't deflect Laser. unless your car is transparent.
