Your poll needs revision. I did it for looks AND to keep the car cool inside.

 

I did it for security, mainly. I've tinted the windows of every vehicle I've owned, though. I don't understand why everybody doesn't tint their windows (if it's legal in their state).

NickStam hit the nail on the head. SO I CAN STARE AT PEOPLE. That and pick my nose in complete privacy.

 

It's easier to hide bodies in the back when the trunk is full.

5% here, 50% on the front Windshield, and 2 1/2 % on the back

I love dark tint, on my max, if the car is really clean, it looks like the windows are painted!!! And Black with Black leather gets HOTTTT, really even hotter with the tint on there but once I turn the ac on it's a meat locker, not to mention staring at people, and watching them look over at a big black window, and the second they look at it, the turn their head back the other way cause they know you are looking at them. People normally don't mess with a really dark tinted car, they don't know who's in there or what who is carrying in the glovebox

 

It's a combination of all things.....

#1: LOOKS
My 3rd gen looked awsome with 20% all around, charcoal interior and metallic blue exterior. It's to ride down the street with the windows half way down.
#2 YOU CAN'T SEE ME BUT I CAN SEE YOU
I can stare at people and they don't know I love that. When it's dark outside, or getting dark, you feel more secure, yes you can pick your nose, you can sing in the car without people laughing at you, you can talk on the cell phone and drive without a seatbelt kidding! You can do things with your girlfriend, you can drive in bad neighborhoods and make faces at the bad guys etc..
#3 SECURITY
People are scared of tinted cars, then you can leave things in the cabin and have less chances of them being stolen. People can't see your expensive equipment or anything else...


Dang, I need to tint my new max ASAP, I'm so not used to no tints, especially with tan interior...

 

protect my interior from the sun, protect my butt from sitting on the hot black leather after its been parked in the sun for awhile, it looks pretty pimp, and chicks dig the car
