Air filter Cleaning?

Air filter Cleaning?
Anyone ever over oiled their airfilter?
How did you know that you had done it and how did you fix it?
I just tried to clean my cone filter and tried to follow the directions as carefully as possible on the K&N cleaning kit, but the oil came out highly pressurized and quickly that I could not tell if the filter is over oiled or under oiled.
Any one have tips on how this is done properly.

After oiling your filter, let it sit in a sink for an hour or two to let the excess oil drip out. Yeah, all you need to do is get the cotton reddish pink again and you are set. One or two passes and that's all you need. It's though to overoil it unless you spray the entire can on it.
