I'd wait a few months before buying it. When you get them new, you have to pay the MSRP! However, after a few months when demands are lower, you could get some discount or maybe some accessories free of charge.

Yeah for 175 hp , and 180 lbs tq , 6 speed but just overdrive gear who cares.

In a 16k car these things are unheard of , nissan is raising the bar once again.

what type of gas does it use?

What is its 0-60 time?

I might be getting it if it takes 87 octane and does 0-60 in 6.5second.

I am looking at some reviews of that car, but no 0-60 performance.

I can't wait to debadge the SE-R

not what I was looking for.

If this thing is 2.0L, I would proably consider it...but this thing is a 2.5 and only has 175hp, I don't really like it. Plus its redline is 6100rpm......The Max is better.

It was first introduced to have 180hp, which is 10 less than the previous Max, but they degraded the needed 5 hp, lowering it down to 175hp just doesn't seem right.

Do you have any info of where its built? IF its in Japan, I might want to think about it again.

Which car was that 2.5 used in?

lol....of course the max is better. You get a bigger car with 2 more cylinders and more power, but it costs more.

For people not looking to spend lots of money I see it as a good buy...

wtf? a 2.0 vs. a 2.5 producing 175 hp in both engines, a 2.5 would be better. a flatter power band.. so your telling me you would like it if it was a 2.0 producing 175? i dont get some people these days... and like people have said before, theres no replacement for displacement. i have to agree with you in one area.. 6100rpm isnt enough rpms for this car to play with. but than again, it could possible run past redline like in bmws... shift well over redline.

I regretted for what I said! Really!

I just reread the article SCC wrote for the SE-R. They said that the 2.5L engine has a much more torquer powerband compared to the SR20 engines, while not much bigger nor heavier than the SR20.

But whats up with the 6100rpm??? Even the Max has 6500.

you mentioned the BMW on your post! You should get one of those! They look damn cool and I think even after 10 years, those things will still look wicked if you keep waxing it every month. The Max, however, is not comparable to it in every aspect!

That price was to neutralize the heavy tax in Canada and its bad economy from past years.

Notice the jobless people lately in Canada?

Hey,

do you think its cool to get a 328i sport is better than a 328i base with springs and tires upgraded?

(upgrading to 215 45 17 with H&R spring w/ stock BMW 328i base struts)

hmm i dont know. i'd still go aftermarket, and i wouldnt know if the bmw 328i struts would fit our maximas. by the way, ever notice how bmws barely have any wheel gap? if only maxima's can make there fenders lower... ok back to the subject, bmw struts are pretty good because even with the sport package the struts absorb the imperfections of the road pretty well and still go over speedbumps better than my maximas awesome rear beam

YES! I know someone who had after market springs on his 318ti with stock strut for 6 years and the ride was solid. It felt like as if it was new!!!! Even with stiffer springs, in my opinion, the ride felt alot more comforatble than the SE.

How did they make their struts last sooo long??? I think BMW should save people some money in the long run, without having to replace worn out parts, since their parts last very long.

i wouldnt say bmw struts are the greatest.. you have to know they are still not 100% made for performance. And you said the ride felt better than the max? probally because of our rear beam suspension.

WTF? Someone comparing the Sentra SE-R with a Maxi? Apples and oranges, totally.

Also, 6.8-7.1 0-60? Man....when I think about it, I think the Celica GT-S has 180hp and 110s ft/lbs of torque. The SE-R V has 175hp, and 170s ft/lbs of torque. According to various sources, the manual GTS runs from 6.6-6.9. I would think that, even though the SE-R may not have quite the top end of the Celica, that the gobs of torque would make up for it, and would make city driving a lot easier. I should hope the 0-60 is 6.6-6.8...

Still an ugly, little Sentra though :/

power

Thats because the celica weighs only 2500 lbs compared to the 2800 lb sentra se-r.

Thats why it is the same speed to sixty.
But the times in the celica is winding it up to like 6000 rpm and dropping the clutch.
The sentra has power all around.
Also much cheaper.
