Question about Bump stops and dust boots
Question about Bump stops and dust boots
When cutting the bump stops in half I noticed that the bump stop on the front struts are connected to the dust boot so is it ok to just cut it and install it without a dust boot and be fine? I have KONIs. Another question is if there are any bump stops on the rear struts and if its nessisary to cut them if there is. thanks
Not sure about the rear bump stops needing to be cut. The front bump stops snap into the shock boot. Wiggle and pull hard and the bump stop will come right out. When snapping it back in, compress the boot then put the bump stop in and push down till you feel it snap into place.
I have no boots, i just said scrww them.
My tokicos are temporary anyways. But I know hwta you mean, if you cut the bumpstop then how do you reattach the boot to it? I don't know, you could put it on upside down? It just keeps the piston clean. This is something I too have been meaning to ask those who cut their bumpstops.
Anyone else? I know most of us have cut bumpstops.
