hi all
i am new to this site and i really apprecite this maxima community which offers help to each other and i hope to expect the same here.
I recently bought a 97 max from a dealer and he told me that the car does not have a remote with it, but to my suprise i found the remote in the car trunk sealed pack, It works perfectly fine but it does not beep when the car is locked or unloced so in a way i do not come out to know when i lock the car whether it is open or locked. the remote has a button with picture of speaker on it but i have tried to press it - to no help.
Can anyone please tell me how to activate the beep whenever i lock or unlock the car

Look at the bottom of the remote...Mine tells me this, "press lock and unlock at the same time to do silent arm/disarm" try that and see what happens...

I think the picture of the speaker is the panic button. If you don't hear anything when you press it then there must be a bad connection between your alarm and your car horn. Or maybee you don't have an alarm at all, just keyless entry.
