For those who have painted their calipers...

Did you spray it on or use a brush? I want to paint them, but I am afriad that if I use a spray on that I will mess up. Is using a brush ok? How many coats of paint did you put on? Did you put a clear coat on after the paint? Any other information that you feel is necessary....Thanks!

many info

either way is ok, if you use spray on, make sure you mask off other parts.

if you use brush, just brush it on.

I brushed it like 4-5 coats. I didn't put the clear coat on, it seems so far so good for over 6 months.

Using a brush defitely safer and better in my opinion. And it is very, very easy, just get ur hands dirty and you will be alright.

do a search on the forusm, you get more info on this topic.

good luck

Well, I sprayed mine on. It was very simple and took me 1.5hrs to do all four.

If you want to see a how-to with pics, go here.

I brushed them on. First I took some brake cleaner and cleaned the caliper then I had some heat treated high gloss paintthen i sprayed it into a bowl and brushed the paint on. Make sure to do 2 coats. I tried to take off the caliper and do it but it was a big mess. goodluck.

I used a brush-on FoliaTec caliper paint kit. Two layers on each caliper was enough, looks great.

Silver. I did it like 3 months ago, before Maxus.

I sprayed mine on, it was easy. Like Dixit said about 2 hours. Which ever way you go, make sure to CLEAN, CLEAN, and CLEAN again the caliper. Otherwise you will be very unhappy with the results. If spray make sure to get a high temp rated enamal(sp?) like engine block paint.

As for the clear, I have heard that it might discolor and flake off. But I did not use and therefore cannot make an authorized opinion.

Good luck!
