Nealoc, VQDriver, look at your wheels. VQDrivers max is pushing 15 * 6 (or 6.5?) wheels whereas Neal is pushing 17*8s. Quite a bit more rotational mass to turn in Neal's car. Smaller wheels will really help your 1/4 mile times.

during the heat of the day i had it set at 18psi. it rose a little bit due to the heat so i lowered it even more. by the end of the night i measured the psi before filling them up again. it registered 16.5psi. i didn't detect any noticeable difference between 16.5-18psi. as long as your in the ballpark it probably doesn't make a lot of difference.

cool

Well... then this is the 2nd fastest 4th gen run next to Jeff K for an N/A Max running on street tires Now imagine VQdriver with all the mods Jeff K had. That would be interesting. Can an N/A 4th gen break into 13s? Yea, I know it probably can, but without serious engine work?

Hmm. Maybe his webpage is wrong.

http://integra.vtec.net/geeser/megamax/Drag_tips.html

If you look at his top time-slip is says slicks.

Is there a big difference? Even DR's will do ya' better than street tires.

Check out the link in my post above. That's his website.

I think at the time of his best run, he had a 95 with a CAI, full exhaust, JWT Chip and slicks.

haha its funny, because back in the day '99 or so i was a member of the earlier maxima.org. and i looked at his page for advice! a couple of years rolled by and i lost my reference. he was my early motivation to break into 14's with just a simple filter bolt on! this year i started running the track, now i find myself trying to break into 14.3s and .2s. thanks for the link! boy, that was a sight for sore eyes.

Nope thats not it, I was on aftermarket 15x6.5 wheels on 205-65-15 rubber at 20 psi. Though the tires are crappy, that doesn't have any bearing here, since my 60' was actually better... 2.209 vs his 2.24, his car is just plain making more power, especially in the first 330' feet where the low-mid range power is crucial. That's to be expected though because I'm stock. I'm still very impressed with his times, and it has made my case for getting a y-pipe... now if only Josh would email me about his Cattman.

One other question, what were the atmospheric conditions, temp, humidity and pressure. If you don't know exactly, just estimate. Good job man, you've raised the bar in my mind.

Ahh, then maybe it was because he had a few mods and you were stock. Looks like you guys are pretty much the same then. Intake AND Y on your setup should really bring down your numbers.

ok both tracks i've run in NJ are about 60' above sea level. not very humid, but i ran my 14.5 when it was 85 degrees out. they don't tell us the atmospheric conditions, but i estimate my 14.4 temp to be chilly, around 60 degrees F not very humid. my ypipe took almost a full tenth off the average of all my runs! 14.7s were hard to come by before then. now, 14.7s are my slowest of runs. it's quiet too! hardly noticeable at all. get it! the best bang for the buck.
