These threads are from a V6 accord forum. It seems that the auto tranny from honda (yes the tranny is made in japan) has a low life before dying.

The following threads are from an acura CL/TL forum. Its interesting how the failures in the automatic are so high . I also found out that the owners manual recommends 15k mile ATF changes, hmmmmmmmm.

Just for kicks I did the exact same search on this site and I didn't come up with as many auto tranny failures in the 4th gens . Almost 70% of the failures that did happen were with the 2nd-3rd gens.

Our automagic tranny's can last 250,000 miles if taken well care of.

yes

The 4th gen tranny seems to be a LOT smoother then the 3rd. Comparing my 93 SE to the 98 GXE, all i can say is the 3rd gen auto was still horrible after the rebuilt in comparison to how smooth my 4th gen is.... This is weird because I heard someone say that the VE and the VQ have the same auto trannies?
