My Friend's 2001 AE Maxima VS 97 Prelude VS 2000 Celica 6spd

Me (Celica GT-S 6spd I/E), first friend (2001 AE Maxima 5spd Stock), and second friend (97 lude I/E) had a showdown tonight.

First max vs prelude. The prelude screwed up his launch and didn't go, but my friend's max had an AMAZING launch. I was shocked at how fast he took off. 220+ torque at work! wow! the max came back and they lined up again. The max didn't have such a good launch this time but still had the lead on the lude. During the 1-2 shift the prelude gained ground. The max driver said that he was shifting very slowly. During the 2-3 shift the lude got a 1/2 car lead. AFter 100 mph it was about a car length.. After seeing that first launch, I'm convinced the max can easily take a lude off the line and keep that lead. and he was stock.

I went against the lude next and got him by about 3 car lengths to 100. We both had poor launches so it was sorta like a rolling race. The viewer's said I pulled on each gear. A lude's true power is above 100 mph I believe?

Anyhow it was great racing. PS we went deep, deep, deep into some farmlands with no houses around at 2 am. So it was pretty safe. Please don't flame!

the prelude was 5spd base model.

actually I have raced the max. back when we were both stock. It was a tie to 60. ... but I think he should hve won. He got me by a carlenght right on the start. but when I hit vvtl-i I caught right up to him... Now, I think tht he just was doing his slow shifting into 2nd and that's why I caught up. oh well at least he can launch

Once you friend learns how to drive, he shoud be able to take both of you to 100 no problem.
