a 4th gen max not lowered yet... maybe in the future. I'm thinking about going with a 8" wide wheel cause I'd rather rub tire not rim on a curb if it did happen. So far I'm thinking about a 245/40 or 45... can I go wider?? I also want to stay with a 40 or 45 series for the little extra pot-hole protection.....Thanks for the input.

245/40/zr18. You could go wider but then your speedo will be really off. Ideal size is 235/40/zr18, but like you said before. Less sidewall protection.

 

i have 245/40/18 on 8.5" wheels with 1.6" apex lowering springs.
