I like the tail lights, I really hope they get it right with the 7th gen maxima and that it is as good as the articles have been hyping it to be, mercedes CLS and old school 4dsc
btw read the article, nissan is planing for the 3.7 to go in the maxima, Nissan will finally seperate the altima from the maxima.

Oh, it is the intima concept, but other fourms i have had read said that new maxima will look similar to the Mercedes CLS and this one does too. But the webpage says thats how a max will look.
And yeah this is concept so Iam sure the production one will not look so futuristic.

Please don't read too much into the Intima pics. There may be styling queues on the Intima that will be carried over to the '09 Maxima, and some carried over to other Nissan vehicles throughout the world. But don't expect the '09 maxima to closely resemble the Intima. My bet is that the 7th gen Maxima will actually look better than the Intima.
Rest assured there will never be suicide doors on the Maxima. Buck - No sweat; there will definitely be a diesel version of the 7th gen Maxima available in 2010, probably turbocharged and adding over $3K to the price. But most Maximas will still be gasoline powered.
Despite the suggestion of a possible name change in the article, Nissan will not be changing the Maxima name in the U.S. The article says the '09 Maxima will arrive in the U.S. in late '09 or early '10. Everyone here should know by now we will see the '09 much sooner than that; probably this spring.
I do like the Intima seats that turn completely sideways for ingress and egress. We may see those on the '09, at least for the driver. And the article is probably correct about the 3.7 engine.
We will almost surely begin to see the first spy photos of the 7th gen Max either this month or next. I am excited!

Are we surprised? They've already destroyed the car with the CVT and no manual offering. Then they offer that Altima thing as if it will take the flagships place. I don't know what's in store for the Maxima but I hope it's something that keeps me away from the Audi lot once i'm done paying for this one.

I think it looks pretty cool, you have to keep in mind though that its just a concept, I kind of see where nissan is taking the maxima. You know nissan there cars are always you either love it or hate it, or there will be a feature or two in the car that probabaly is only offered in higher end cars but it will be a standard feature on the maxima!

After 22 years of driving Maxima SE's, regardless of what any of the future ones look like, Nissan lost me when they dropped the manual trans. Oh, and switching assembly to the US didn't help any either.
Oh well, goodbye Nissan, hello Infiniti.

That concept car is too much. Looks way to big but thats what nissan wants to take the maxima brand now a days. The 6th gens are nice but im just stumped why they took out the manual option.
The skyroof is not appealing in my opinion and I wonder why nissan is focusing on that feature so much on the maxima. Is it a luxury thing? Anyway, the way the maxima has been developing over the years my next car is going to be a g35 sedan.
I hate to see the Maxima (4dsc) die off. O' well theres always the altima and change the badge to the "real maxima" hehe.

Nice front end. But...it looks too much like a Camry. I hate those things...This doesn't mean they're getting rid of the Maxima, does it?? Oh dear God no. lol
And the suicide doors remind me of those Saturn Ion coupe things. No thanks on the doors.

Im pretty sure they're keeping the Maxima name which is a good thing. I just hope they dont destroy it.
Apparently it's set to include two different varieties of engines. One is a turbo diesel and the other a 3.7L VQ engine. I'm not sure whether if this the same engine that is going into the G37, as this would be a VQ37VHR which has VVEL and sports a whole heap of power. I guess it's anyones guess at this stage - auto or cvt - with a VQ37VHR it'll still be a total sleeper with 330hp @ 7000rpm and 270 lb-ft of tq.

They always make concept ars look crazy. I like the fact that its huge, looks almost like the size of a 7 series bimmer.
Search up some of the concept pics of the g37, in the begining the car looked fake, and just kinda weird. But now that its released it looks good.

agreed. I don't hate the 6th gen like some, but the "maxima" as an institution definitely changed with the 04 model year. I hope the 7th gen brings back a bit of what we used to love.. honestly, Nissan needs to just buy a 5-series for their engineers so they can take note of what makes it a true sports sedan.
