Should we have a cleaning and detailing forum?

Kev's sticky got me thinking (along with several recent questions about waxing and cleaning) that we should have a seperate forum on how to keep our Maxes looking clean and pristine. How would you guys feel about that?

Well, let's see....

a) Not everyone is in the 5th Gen Forum enough to know about Kev's sticky. Some of the questions I have fielded in regards to cleaning and waxing were in the 3rd Gen Forum and even in the General Maxima Questions Forum.

b) There have been questions floating about regarding which is the best wax, polish, wash, etc for our cars and I was thinking that it would be cool to have a central point for that type of information.

c) There are a lot of people on the org who detail and clean their cars and it would be a place where they could share ideas, tips, and techniques to keep their Maxes looking pristine.

Well, cleaning and detailing is sort of a religious thing, just like engine oil.

People have their things they believe in works and others say it is WRONG. Well, It is exactly that, RELIGIOUS......... we would have too many wars on what is right way, what is wrong way........

Plus too many new technologies dont apply to all cars, you know, either you have clear coat, metallic finish, laquer finish, etc........

Not if the moderator is wise (read: experienced) enough to know what may work for one car may not work for another. A lot of what you are mentioning is pure common sense. Not everyone is going to use the same methods to achieve results.

why doesn't someone compile all the information repeated every time someone asks about wax/detail, and ask a moderator to make it a sticky (like my 4th gen suspension sticky).

Kev did that on the 5th Gen Forum. The thread is called "Cleaning Your Max."
