Is it too cold for my summer tires?

I haven't take off the sp8000's yet....but its like 40 degrees tonight. The tires almost felt soft? I dunno. I know it won't snow for say 3 weeks here in buffalo, but man....i HATE the idea of putting those crap 93gxe rims back on......ugh....they are so ugly. Plus the 225/50 16's vs 205/65 15's is such a big difference.

If you have the time and motivation, swap them out now. You may get snow sooner than you think.

I'm running the SP8000 here in NJ. Tempted to keep them on this winter being the tire has lots of tread on it.

I just hate to put the 5 spoke back on with o e m tires.

He he. I leaned my lesson last year. I decided to wait for the first snow fall, and well, being in Buffalo you know what that was like.

I'm gonna put my snow tires on next week. I hate the look, but I don't want to get caught with my pants down again this year!

Anyways, I've noticed that my Kumho's get "less grippy" in the cold weather. I think harder tires (Z,W,etc. like most summer ones) need to be at a higher temperature to grip. I notice that they get much better after driving for a few minutes for obvious reasons.
