Llumar VS. Formula 1 tints
granted, a 350 is fairly easy to do, but it i still spend almost 2 hours on it. i can do it in 35 minutes too, but it's not gonna look like what i normally produce out of my shop.
but i happen to know a little about the guy in boca, and i've seen his work.
but that's pretty typical of guys who mainly do illegal installs. they don't have to back any of their work because the customer has no legal recourse because it's an illegal install. just another way they take advantage of customers.

if i had a nickel for every time i've heard that in 22 years.

there is no such thing as "factory lexus tint". (car manufacturers don't tint windows)
it's tint, done by a tint shop, just like everyone else's, and it's purple.
if you want to see how purple it really is, just take it and have one window redone.
of course i have a shop. built it in 1996, and been here ever since. that is until the end of this month. at which time i'm moving to oregon. 12 years is about all i can handle of texas prices and all the people wanting illegal tint.
texas is a long hard process to get illegal film. you have to register with the state, obtain a certificate, and you have to renew it every year.
oregon is different. they want illegal tint, all the have to do is go get a prescription from the dr, and i'm released from all liability.
plus, tint jobs are quite a bit higher.

you know all those people you see with tint that's barney purple? go up and ask the owner if their tint is purple. 9 times out of 10 they will say "no".
so it's ok, it's your car, as long you think it's not purple, you'll be fine.

Thanks to those in this thread, especially 'shaglass'...I was deciding between Formula One Comfort Series and Llumar ATR CH. There is about a $60 price difference between the two (F1 being higher) so I feel confident that the Llumar ATR CH will suit me just fine.
