Maxima aluminum tiedown!

UPDATE: The sample is in and it looks great! Here are the pics.

Looks like pricing will be $25 plus shipping, which I would imagine being no more than a couple dollars being mailed in a bubble envelope. I'm going to order a batch of them and will probably take 2 weeks. Shoot me a PM and I will add you to the list for when they come in.

Disregard the old battery.

Quick update: Should be placing an order to have these made within a few days. Looks like they might be polished instead of brushed. I'll keep everyone updated.

Really? I'm a brushed man. Polish might be too much bling for my car to handle. I don't want it to go to the car's head. My car's ego is already pretty inflated as it is.

It'd probably cost him that much to make them.

Alrite, I'll chat with the job shop and see about having them brushed instead of polished. Pricing looks like ~$25 depending on the finish.

Keep us informed. It is a great idea and obviously has some interest. I would prefer brushed as well and the $30 is do-able.

Maxima is cut all the way thru the part. So the black top of the battery will make the word Maxima look black.

The bar is approximately 8" long overall and a hair over 7" from hole to hole, the same as the factory one.

Update: Spoke with the job shop today and they will be making a sample which should be done on Monday. It will indeed have a brushed finish.

If everything looks good with the sample, I will have them make a batch of them.

How much will it weigh?

Your "A" is wrong. The A should be crossed from the left leg of the A, not the right leg.

That's way too cool. I've had this idea in the back of my head for years now, but never got around to actually having one made. I may still try and do this for my mini 11 lb battery.

I'll have to weigh it, but its light. Also, are you sure about the "A" being wrong? Its the same font as the maxima.org banner at the top of the forums here.

The A, if you're talking about the font maxima.org uses (Good Times) it is correct... The actual maxima symbol is straight through.

I'll buy one too
