I got a buyer for front and rear sway bars. I'm in chicago he is somewhere in NC.

I dont know how to properly ship this item to him. Or even an idea to ship it. I dont have any box that looks like it will remotely fit. I was thinking of wrapping it in bubble wrap or something and shipping it whole.


Any thoughts and ideas?

 

Get UPS/FedEx to pack it in a box, or buy a box that's big enough to hold the whole thing and stuff it full of packing peanuts or something similar. I just received a RSB in a FedEx box that held the whole thing.

You could also call packing stores and UPS/FedEx and see what they recommend.

 

Get a few used boxes, then use a knife and some tape and make a box that fits the bar nice and snug. It can be the same shape as the bar, the box doesn't have to be square.

Bring it to a UPS ship it center and ship it.

Pretty simple actually.

I do know from experience Fedex and UPS like to jack up the price on shipping for oblong shaped boxes. Prices can fluctuate between a $10 and $20 DIFFERENCE just for a few inches on one dimension. If that is the case, try shipping it via Greyhound, a lot of times they have extra room on a Bus and will throw it down there for like $10. The bonus of this is that the person receiving the item will get it the same day, maybe the next one; but they will have to go pick it up at the Greyhound station.

47x 16x 6 is what a nicely size box would be for the says. @ 20-35lbs they want $50-60
