DEsignation confusion?

Is it just me or do most sources seem to deny the existance of the
VQ30DE-K? I search on ebay and car-part.com and go to autozone and they all think I'm crazy .

if you tell them 96 with a DE-k then they will think you crazy. most electronic catalogs do not differentiate between DE and DE-k since the year will differentiate them

From wikipedia: "The K designation stands for the Japanese word kaizen which translates to "improvement". The engine was used in the 2000-2001 Nissan Maxima and adds a true dual-runner intake manifold for better high-end performance compared to some earlier Japanese and Middle-East market versions of this engine. The VQ30DEK produces 226 PS (223 hp/166 kW). The 1995-1999 US spec VQ30DE was equipped with only a single runner intake manifold."

The 00VI is off of the DE-K

The MEVI is off of the middle eastern version of the 4th gen w/VQ30DE not the DE-K

and an odd note, I worked at a karate school for 2 years that was named Kaizen lol
