Ran at the Track this past Friday again...
Just to give you a guys a idea, I have ran stock 15.3 at 90.xx mph.
Then adding a generic cone intake I hit 15.2 at 91mph but broke a engine mount.
I recently added a RT CAT, and with the colder weather I decide to run at another track tonight.
Well the track I went too is Alamo Dragway, 50yr+ old track. Everyone had serious traction problems and it felt like I was taking off in water. I did no changes to tire pressure or weight.
I tried lanching at 2500, 2000 I just spun. So I took off normal like you do on the street and just nailed it. It was the only way for me to get traction or I would just spin.
This is what I got for the best out of 3 runs.
15.5 at 94.xx mph
2.800 60fts
I hate that track, but didn't want to break another engine mount.
So anyways, where you think I am really running if I can get a good launch?

Well like I said, I tried to lanch at different rpms, and I spun. Especially my right front wheel sat there spinning. I tried 3 times and gave up. One of these days I will get a damn 14 slip!

Hm...Russ, I think you could definitely do better then that. You said you have beaten other Maximas with more mods, some of which are 14 sec cars. So, you should easily be in the 14s yourself. Maybe it's the track? Is there any other track near you so you could try it and see if it makes a difference?

All last year, I swore up and down there was no way I could launch my car any higher than 2000rpms on the track (KCIR = really sucks). My best of last year was a 14.9 with a 2.3X 60'. I talked to Jeff K and he said to up my rpms. In April, I went back out and launched at 4000rpms. Bam, instant 14.8@94 with a 2.27 60'. Got in line again and up my rpms to 4400 and got my best of a 14.7@94mph with a 2.28 60'. The trick is to NOT DROP THE CLUTCH!!! When you pull up and stage, release the clutch just before it starts to catch. Raise the rpms to 4000. On the final amber, release the clutch a little and feed it a little gas. Once the car starts to roll, release the clutch pretty quickly and continue to feed it gas. The goal is to come off the line above 3000rpms. If you fall below 3000, you'll bog, most likely spin a lot, and then get a crappy 2.3+ 60'. I still spin a good bit, but I never bog. That's the key.
AND STOP running down the track heavy. Pull your spare and jack, take out all the crap in the trunk, run with a 1/4 gas, up the pressure in the rear to 40+psi, and drop the fronts to 22-24psi. This limits the "what if's" and excuses. I don't understand it when people "forget" all the stuff they have in their car. You're running the 1/4 mile in a car capable of going 100mph in just over 15 seconds. You should be checking over your car simply for safety.

When I broke my engine mount is when I lanched at 4k, and it was slipping the clutch. That inner right wheel started to hop and bam. I went to this track and did clutch slips as well at those rpms I said, I barely even released the clutch all the way and that tire was spinning like mad. Like I said, felt like I was in water. When I go to the track I really never feel like messing with the tires, cargo, etc.

BTW, the www.club-gp.com guys saw your video and they thought it was impressive that a NA Maxima was running 14.2-14.3s. That GTP in that video was freaking awesome. He ran away from you at the get-go. His 60' must have been a 1.9 or lower.
