clutch question oem vs. aftermarket

it is time for me to replace my clutch. i am going to replace it with a stock force clutch because i have no mods and i don't see that happening real soon on my budget. courtessy nissan wants $85 for a disc, $23 for a throwout bearing. do maxima.org members get a discount? also i saw some other brands from carparts.com, (sachs or something like that) and i was wandering if anyone has anyexpierience with them.

From what I read, Nissan offers two types of clutches. The first type is the OEM replacement which is what you have in the car stock. The there's the second which is more of a budget "blue" clutch. The OEM is over two times as much. However, everyone who's gone with the cheaper one ends up having slippage within a year. The OEM clutch seems to have no problems. I've got 74K miles and over 60 1/4 mile passes and my clutch has never slipped. That's pretty amazing for a OEM clutch if you ask me. I plan on going with the ACT clutch simply because I want even more clamping force.

Thanks alot for the advise. I will definately stay clear of the "key value/blue" clutch kit. I can't wait to get a new clutch in, b/c i have to drive like my grandma with this slipping clutch.

You also need the pressure plate also. Don't reuse the old one!
