2002 Max... Wow

Man, the new MAX is pretty fast! Last friday night I was on my way home to VA from Pittsburgh. In Montgomery County, MD I see this Champagne color MAX with Xenon lights flying by so I decide to play along. I get next to him and take off and he was behing me like I'd say 3 carlength. By the time I hit 120mph he was still 3 at most 4 cars behind. As I kept going I slowly pulled, but slowly.

I must say that V6 has got some cojones. Anyway, after hitting 140mph, I didn't look back to see how far cuz I was concentrating on the road. I slowed down to about 90 and he did too I assume cuz he was behind me and was getting ready to take the exit. I then hit the Hazzards Lights to acknowledge "good run" and he high beams me to acknowledge me, I think.

Anyway, if you're on this board, nice run! If you're stock and feel like you lost, don't feel bad, my 540i has Dinan Tranny Sofware, Stage 2 Download, CAI, and Hamann Exhaust. Good Job! Hope to run with you again!

Here you go...

http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/amg_eatr/...c=ph%26.view=t

I didn't put my body kit on yet cuz after I lowered it, I noticed the drop was pretty low. I'll install the kit in the spring, but might do the rear and roof spoiler in the meantime. I think we're gonna have a pretty snowy winter this year.

Here are pics of my unpainted kit...

Well, the Dinan set up is $12995 just parts (ouch)410HP at the crank, there is an ESS setup for $5995+800 install that would bring a 540i up to 420HP at the crank. I'm opting for this setup for obvious reasons.

Know what I mean?

I still think that you'd be better off in a M3.

i can give you my opinion here..

i can beat a TL-S without Nitrous
my cousin's GS 400 can beat me without Nitrous
Steve's 6spd ran door to door with the GS400 from 60 mph to 100 mph
my conclusion? the 6spd maxima will destroy a TL-S

How do you usually do against the GS400 when your NOS is fresh?

Driver of the TL-S you raced probably doesn't know how to drive at all.

just don't come around my way then, the Randolph Road/Wheaton area is far from quiet, ruins the whole peacefulness, crazy *** neighborhood! I still don't know who stole my trashcans!

Well, the guy probably left it in auto instead of downshifting to 3d in SS mode. Plus VTEC engines pull hard at high RPMs.

No, I'm trying to imply that 190 and 260 HP is a pretty big difference.

Here's my opinion. Last Sat.night, I was in my 540 with a passenger (a CL Board Moderator). We saw a silver CLS flying so we get next to it. from 60 to about 80 he hung well, after that...BUH BYE!

http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=53055

Considering my experience racing the two. I would have to say the 2002 MAX should win at high speed no problem. From a stop it should be a fun race to watch but beyond 80mph, the TLS will be seeing the MAX's round tail lights.

Hope this helps answer your question.
