Someone keyed my car this weekend from the back of the car to the front of the car on the passenger side.... it is deep too, not just on the surface, but all the way through the clear coat and paint.

Is there anything i can do to make this look better other than getting a paint job?

Thanks

call the insurance company

thats what I did when some sick A$$ keyed the door on my 4Runner. don't try to take it to a body shop yourself. let the insurance company pay for it. had to paint the door, rear door and fender to make the paint blend in. People R Sick these days, don't know what I did to **** that loser off

if it's just half the car, then key the rest of the car , u might as well get the whole thing repainted if u want a different color..

bastards. i hate it when ppl do stuff to ur car, but they dont want the same for their own car.. i.e. door dings.. who the freak needs to swing open their door so damn wide?? i mean. is their butt that big? they should be entering from the back seat then.. dammit.

i'm really sorry to hear about ur keyed car... the best thing to do now is call the insurance company and hope your paint shop can match the color correctly..

I do feel your pain...

right here... PUNKS! They left the 70K mercedes next to me alone, and somehow they decided to 'fight the power' with an anarchy symbol on my trunk.

<img src="http://www.adpub.com/scratch.jpg">

thats about $450 worth of paint and clear. Insurance kicked in $200 of that.

I was actually wondering about that....

I wonder if they will try to make me just get half of it painted or what.... I really would like to get it painted white anyhow (it is Maroon now). Oh well, I will call them and see what is up.

Thanks

its actually the blending that gets you...

they have to blend on a curve or crease on the panel to make it virtually impossible to see. (as the light naturally throws a shadow/hightlight that will contrast on the car anyway). They nearly painted the entire back of the car, but you cannot see where it was done. If they stop on a single panel, it will look like crap.

My first day I took my car home someone gave me a big Door Ding

I just bought the car, drove it home and looked over the whole car admiring it, absolutely perfect. I then went into my house had dinner, watched a movie on tv, then got ready to go out with my friends. I walk outside, about 3 hours later, and there is fresh white paint, and a big ding on my driver side passenger door.

This means some *** lint, drove his car into my driveway, opened thier door and purposely dinged my car. Must have been jealous that I got a new car. I was so pissed, that I didn't even go out. I should have parked in the garage, but figured since I am going out later, and it is MY house, that I would just let it sit in the front yard.

At least Farmers paid for the whole dent repair, waiving the deductable, and that Dent Wizard did a mighty fine job. I completely forgot over the last year that I ever had a ding on my car, until I read this post!

Here is what you do....

Get the insurance to repaint it..........make sure it is reallllllly shiny........so the individual notices you fixed his handy work..........then park it for him to see.......and get pissed......all along your eyeballing him........he whips the key out......you approach and KICK THE MOTHER ****ERS ***!.......he was coming at you with a key....you defened yourself. He must have been trying to break in..........

If its a kid......"politely subdue" him..........and take him to his parents.......and do not leave until they assure you they will pay for your damages......

persoanly id kick his ***.........big enough to mess with a mans car...the he better be able to mess with the man too
