At first my two tail (Break) lights do not come on except the boot spoiler light. So I decided to replace the bulbs, while doing this I realised the selector lever cannot be moved from the P position while the engine is running and the brake pedal is depressed. I used the shift lock to move the car to my house. The problem persist when I tried to replace the bulbs once again, the tail lights refused to come on when I put on the head lamps. The tail light is completely off and the selector lever cannot be moved from the P position while the engine is running and the brake pedal is depressed except I use a screw driver to press the shift lock. HEEEEELP WHAT DO I DO! No dealer shops arround!

Dude, you need to post this in a thread that actually has something to do with your problem. Why don't you try http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...ml#post6816612 if you have a 5th gen.
Or you could try http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...e-posting.html if you have a fourth gen.
Or here http://forums.maxima.org/3rd-generat...ions-here.html if you have a third gen.

But your best of all, most-likely-to-get-you-what-you-need is using the SEARCH FUNCTION. Don't just find a random thread with "Maxima" in the title and post your question.

I love that I bought my 3 gen 10 yrs ago for $3200 at an anual cost of ownership= $320/yr (excluding timing belts, cv's reg. maint.) Not bad, even with a blown tranny.

UNIQUE-NESS

its unique, no one even thinks about modding them.

i like my cars to stay unique.

this was my old car (5spd corolla; family hand-down) before the max:

AND WANTED TO TURN IT INTO THIS:

know what i mean about "unique"?, b/c i mean where have u seen a 1997 corolla that looks like this

but never happened, so got rid of it and got the max

I like the fact that people underestimate our Maxima's!

Umm, how I love that VQ35 Engine.........opps, I meant "Grocery Getter."

LOL......

Oh, it's funny how they don't know the speed & power that's hidden underneath that shell.

I love the power you can get from the VE, and how nissan designed these cars to be darn near indestructable

There's some things the max had never did before with well over 225K miles and still drove like a champ thereafter..now she's at 248K and is still going

93VE FTW!!

it can be a semi sports car which seats 5, and is cheap with many mods. strong motor, and its a timing chain, so no messing with that side of the motor, every 90K miles to be on the safe side..

Dude, i totally agree. I also love the fuel economy mine gets... 30 hwy and 23, 24 in town. It handles great too, very little play in the steering.

the smooth ride that most of my friends compliment me on all the time but i also think that it has to do with the drivers skills (LOL!), that the 98 SE has a lighter stock body, v6, handling, and that it's an nissan. lol

I like how the 3rd Gen are a 4 DOOR SPORTS CAR for real men!
The 4+th Gens are a LUXARY CAR FOR PUSSIES (did they make stickers for that...?), who need heated seats, steering wheels, shifters, mirrors, feet massaging pedals and a cupholder, boys toys!

haha kidding.
Those VQ engines are the best invention ever.
I still prefer to feel and appearance of the 3rd Gen's though.
VQ + 5 Speed in a 3rd Gen, can't go wrong fella's!

Theyre Nissans, plenty to like when you stand (park) them next to another make of car.

quiet turn signal beeper, intelligent key, heated steering wheel, kind of weird but how someone always says that they knew of or had a maxima growing up

Bullet proof reliable. Nothing ever breaks on these things. Maybe the most reliable car Nissan makes.

That I could beat my wife's V8 Durango. My maxima is so torquey that the front tires still digging out asphalt in 2nd gear.

I love how quick the engine reacts when you put 93 octane in the fuel tank. Amazing! A major difference, in my opinion, from using regular 87 octane. My car also does well going up and down hills. I drove to San Francisco about a month ago and used the 2nd drive gear for the first time going down a steep hill (In the Sacramento area, everything is flat). I was amazed at how my Max easily went up and down. My friend has a 2000 Taurus that SUCKS going up or down on any of those hills.

This is the first 4th gen I've owned and love everything about it. I had two 2nd gens back in the day and wouldn't go back. I've had Honda, Chevrolet, Toyota, and ford and they DO NOT compare to the niceness of this Nissan.

What I love about my 5.5 is how much passing ability it has. I've never owned a vehicle that passes so effortlessly before.

I have 59K on mine so I look to have many more miles to look forward to.

3rd gen pros go on forever

-last forever. mines got 402,000km with no major work ever done
-power/comfort modes on the automatics own, especially the power mode
-never get stuck in winter. ive never gotten stuck in snow and had to call for a tow truck or get some help.
-luxury stuff for the time, heated mirrors, power seats, etc
-dam fast cars, nobody expects to see a 4 door sedan blast by then BAM

went for a oil change a couple weeks ago and the guy couldnt believe im still on the original engine and tranny
