Look closely at the insides of the rear tires, all Z31's will have wear here to some extent if they are driven hard, but if it is severe it points to bad subframe bushings.

Pop the hatch, rip out the carpet, look under the tool-kit, good? Next stick your hand way way down inside the rear fenders, like your trying to reach the back of the rear tires. Can you stick your hand through a giant hole?

Timing belt equipped valve interference engine, mucho denearo to servico. So make sure it's ben done.

Turbo or n/a, auto or stick?

Rest is mostly general stuff that applies to any car anyways, be aware that there are rat's out there, my Z was a beauty but had every problem that could ever be present in a car, and then some, including the entire front left being rewelded, bent engine crossmember, blah blah blah. That was the worst car I ever bought. So if you don't have the skills, knowledge, and means, it's worth it to take it to a mechanic for $100 to have him throw it on the lift and go through it for you.

Z31.com > 300zxclub, 300zx club is geared more towards Z32's imho
